Sorry about the dodgy poll. It should read, "Who do you want to win the CC", but I'm guessing (from the number of non-Yorkshire votes) that y'all figured that out.
It's just hit me that The Artful Rogers will retire from Tests next year. Dare I dream of him playing an entire season for Middlesex? Could next year, if Finn remains accurate and on-song, finally be the year? Finally?

I voted Worcestershire but I want Yorkshire to win it in reality... (Sorry Srihari, i just wouldn't be able to stomach Keaton winning it)

Am I the only one, who is seething at the cricketing yorkshire episodes?
Durham won three CC titles in six years, including back-to-back in 08 and 09, was there a cricketing Durham show? Ridiculous how Gillespie, who has so far won a grand total of 1 CC title with the best squad in the country has got all the plaudits he has.
After all, Yorks have been abysmal in the LO format and that doesn't look like changing this season as well.
Yes, yorkshire have provided lots of players for England, but the cricketing yorkshire isn't about them is it? It is about the club that has won one title in the last decade. No wonder everyone hates the team so much, when even little things they do are overblown out of proportion.

What is this "LO" you speak of, Sri? I swear I've seen those letters pop up from time to time in cricketing circles.

Ignoring LO for the moment though, 'cause I don't reckon that's what the plaudits are for, you've got to admit how impressive it is - not only the England players that Yorks churn out, but also that they're about to win back-to-back CCs despite England absorbing so many of their best players.

I'm not saying it is not impressive. they are doing a bloody good job of churning out top quality cricketers. But feel as though it is a little too soon to be doing all of that. It's not like they've won 5 straight CC titles.

What is Yorkshire's 5 year record (including this year)? I think it's something like: Relegated, Win Div2, 2nd, 1st, probably 1st again.

Middlesex have started well today. Compton was hit on the helmet from a bouncer and retired hurt but apparently he's fine and should resume his innings. Robson batting well too so far.

Cripes, county time already! COME ON THE MIDDLE.
SRobson - 77 then 67. Is he regaining his touch? Seems like he'll need to practise his slipping to take on Lyth, though.
Malan keeping the team afloat again. What a surprise.
EDIT: Bit of a pathetic end to things. Almost an Australian collapse.

Two very juicy matches in progress. Durham are really playing their season prospects against Warks. Anything less than a win will do their lingering Championship hopes a crippling blow. Warks, for their part, know that a win will leave them nicely placed for a top-4 finish and possibly as high as runners-up, while a defeat would leave them looking over their shoulder a bit.
Middlesex's campaign traditionally falters about now. They are still in the chasing pack and arguably as well or better placed than Durham. Somerset have pulled a little away from the bottom 2, but need a win or a big draw to keep their distance, with a Middlesex win will leave them in an excellent position to challenge for runners-up spot.
After these games were are very much into the Championship run-in.

This is really where we need Steadzz and his info.-delivering abilities. I'll not be around for most of the day, but I'll have one eye on Middlesex, and a scintilla of another one on Warks. (come on Hain!).
