"I'm not sure what Graeme Smith knows about Australian cricket" - Steven Smith's retort. Good lad.
Greame Smith was a good player but let a player do his job whilst he is the captain. As the sport becomes popular, we have to tolerate "pundits" of this sort. Why don't they go someplace and coach a team or something?

That escalated quickly. Australia simply can't bat on anything apart from roads can they Sa with a lead of nearly 100 on a rainhit day one.

Poor old Aussies. They were just throwing wickets away with needless flashes and a run-out as well. How is replacing Di Venuto as batting coach going on, Australia?

Fantastic bit of photography that.
Is it too soon to compare modern day Australia to mid-2000s West Indies? It's just the way Steve Smith is so good and yet constantly let down by everyone around him. It's Chanderpaul-esque.

I'd compare him with the pre-world domination Aussie era. Most in the team are average at best and Border was always waging a lone battle. Its the late 80's all over here and they better give chances to young players and rebuild.

An innings defeat and five in a row. I almost feel sorry for the little scamps.
Big changes coming up you'd expect, all but Waner, Smith, Starc and Hazelwood must be under threat. Who are the next cabs off ranks?

And Lyon surely. But... yeah. That's a thing. (Cameron Bancroft? Baby Lehmann? Head? That kid who slaughtered the England under-19s?)
TMS is asking if England are now favourites for the Ashes though. Er. Steady now.

Left field but what price a call to Sam Hain?
Think Lyon should be fine but the Aussies treat spinners oddly.

"We've had James and Pat talk to us, and that's about going forward and sticking together," Lehmann said.LOL. Yeah, everybody is under threat, but it was really great for the lads to hear a couple of motivational speeches on sticking together. So who is Lehmann trolling? Cricinfo or his team?

Another match, another embarrassing defeat for the Australians. Smith looks like the only one that could bat. Warner looks like he is going to throw his wicket the very next ball. The less said of others, the better. The selectors axed Jackson Bird, a proper tailender because of his poor batting. They should have also axed the top order batsmen for being very inconsistent. For years, they have been bollocking Cook. How much would they wish they had him on their side now?
They must try and get their crap sorted out sooner. They have got to blood in youngsters. There are many, many players that are worth giving a go. Yet they somewhat stick with the bigger names and fail "bigly". Why not give a chance to Kurtis Patterson, Marcus Stonis, Travis Dean, Peter Handscomb, Jake Lehmann and Renshaw. They should give chances to at least a couple of them surely. They have been here before, when Allan Border was the captain. The question is, whether Smith can do a Border and whether they will come back strongly. Not that I am complaining, they are like a gift that keeps on giving.

IIn other selection news, with one marsh injured another one dropped, guess the third marsh felt he wasn't in the news so guess what he did, resign, yup, that's what he did.
Although how much rod marsh s decision affects or changes anything remains to be seen
