The comment on Cricinfo was poignant methinks.
I also posted one questioning his place in the slips instead of at short leg.
But I guess, TIE

Ian Bell drop. Drop Ian Bell. I can't understand why he is still in the slips? He's had a ridiculous amount of drops recently! Still annoyed that Taylor isn't playing. If the rest of the England team all retired he still wouldn't get picked. In actual fact, I almost thought Keaton would play instead of him it's getting that silly.

100-run partnership up and with Younus and Misbah to come, this is going to be a long, long tour for England.

Why was he still in the slips? He's obviously got no form catching at the moment. Really hope he gets a big hundred in this series, he could do with the confidence boost

With Ali and Rashid going for combined figures of 36-2-149-0 this could be a very embarrassing series. Eng desperately need a world class spinner again.

If Bell could catch and Broad could keep his foot behind the line it would have nearly been a good day.
Alas, they cannot. Although 4 wickets is better than the 1 it was for most of the day.

Also, aside from Swann when was the last time, England had a genuinely world class spinner in the last few decades? I honestly can't think of any off the top of my head.

Monty was a good spinner, he just was rubbish at all other facets of the game. Before that probably Emburey, although Tufnell wasn't dreadful.

True, Sri. Maybe not even a world class spinner just a Test class one. Not sure Ali or Rashid will ever be genuinely of Test quality.

True, Sri. Maybe not even a world class spinner just a Test class one. Not sure Ali or Rashid will ever be genuinely of Test quality. Rashid spins the ball, and is able to extract turn in England pretty much throughout the year and having seen today, while he bowled hit-me balls, he bowled jaffas as well. So, I have no doubt, he can learn, adapt and become a very good spinner for England, world class maybe not. But then again few spinners are, but test quality certainly. They need to give him the long rope, like they did with Moeen Ali.
