Certainly slow and low, Nas on Sky right now talking about Root and saying that he thinks Root has made too many changes to his trigger movements since the Ashes and didn't look as natural. Twt.

If it, Buttler, Pope and Stokes are the men to put on eight million in a hurry and declare...

Well, that happened.
Brave new dawn might take a little longer, turns out winnings overseas is pretty tricky in all cricket at the moment and the issues with the English game are pretty deep and structural rather than entirely down to Trevor Bayliss not really being a test cricket kind of guy

Yep. I hope that the management don't go making too many changes though. I think this is the right team to bring about success in Test cricket, at least for now, with my only questions being over Buttler as keeper and Root as captain. Pope is young and will learn, likewise with Sibley. As for the bowling attack, I can't imagine any other collection of county bowlers doing better, unless you can field Wood as well as Archer.

Buttler is an injury doubt for the second test. In his absence, His Holiness will keep and bat at No 7, Crawley will slot in at No 6. Also, it looks like Woakes might come in for Leach.

Changes as expected, the absurdity of Pope keeping not lost on anyone, and blimey, all the pundits are properly laying in to the decision to play 5 seamers and no spinner

Pick both Woakes and Curran in swinging conditions.
Open the bowling with Broad and Archer.
Hmm.
