Sri Lanka performing exactly as everyone expected I see.

Good to see reducing the number of teams in the World Cup to 10 has got rid of uncompetitive matches... Ballanalysis predicts this to be the most quoted post on the forum by the end of the tournament.

Terrible batting performance from Sri Lanka, hopefully the Afghanistan match can be more competitive.

Tremendous slower-ball jinx from Humair.

Just popped a few quid on Bangladesh at the change over, this sa batting line up looks a bit iffy

First close match? (Now watch SA lose 3 for 2 or something.)
EDIT: What a delivery! Reckon SA could have dealt with the loss of Miller: Faf not so much.

Very good performance from Bangladesh, much the better side.

That saffer team is really quite bang average isn't it, 2 proper bat's 2 bowlers and 7 bits and pieces, missing one or two but still....
Edit not taking anything away from Bangladesh who played v well, lack a bit of power hitting in the last 10 but other than that have good bowling and batting options and could be an outside chance of semis

Was at the Oval yesterday, had a really good time watching a close game. The Bangladesh fans were brilliant, grinning ear to ear, noise and dancing throughout despite most of them fasting. Remarkable stuff, was delighted they won.
Thought the pacing of the Bangladesh innings was interesting, they had no real difficulty keeping up six an over throughout but couldn't really accelerate until SA went to pot in the last four overs.

Sri Lanka were the last team I was expecting to see reach 50 in the 5th over... some rather dodgy wide bowling and slippy outfield helping a fair bit though. At the ground and I imagine will be the smallest attendance of the tournament, it’s like going to a domestic 50 over game

South Africa could well be out for the count with defeat today, suckered by injuries and poor form. Leaving them with dead rubbers for the rest of the tournament. Another negative to the current format.

Anyone found any positives to the current format? Anyone at all?

Positive 1 - there is cricket to watch every day. Positive 2 - we're not out yet.
Kohli as captain could be an issue in the ol' fantasy here, may only have 50 or so to chase at this rate. SA have fallen to pieces in this tournament

Lower scoring matches really are more fascinating than run fests aren't they. This SA - Ind game could go v v close
