Utter bollocks of an innings from England’s smoothest ODI batsman.

Feeling sorry for NZ. That fluked six off Stokes’ bat... that stepping backwards from Boult for six... but that’s cricket. That coinciding with the end of an epic at Wimbledon too 😍

Today really showed the fine margins of cricket - Boult caught Braithwaite in the group stages to win a game - 6 inches further and NZ might not've qualified. Boult carried Stokes' shot for 6 today... 6 inches in, and NZ win the world cup!

Let’s not forget amidst the euphoria that this tournament was still a sorry excuse for a World Cup.
A ‘world’ consisting of ten teams that still had a group stage lasting forever. Pitches that were slow and massively in the favour of those batting first. Nothing but the final on free-to-air. Umpire Dharmasena.
And of course the fact that any English/Welsh people who enjoyed, or were converted to, the format and searches for some similar domestic cricket next year will find a competition butchered by an ECB shot in the dark. Also the gun is aimed at their own foot.
The finest final in World Cups shouldn’t detract from that.
Still though. GET IN!

I’ve got a Kiwi mate who has absolutely done Kane proud with his phlegmatism. Hope they win next time.
Team of the tourney anyone?
Roy Sharma al Hasan Williamson Stokes Neesham Carey de Grandhomme Starc Archer... no Plunkett... no Archer, I think, just Bumrah
12th man and supersub: Jadeja

The ICC have rescinded the boundary count rule and replaced it with endless super overs. Oh the salt.
