Just get Darren Stevens in and be done with it.

Colly AND Darren Stevens.
One has to be the new Misbah, surely?

Good last session for the bowlers, but the batsmen are not getting any substantial scores; hopefully Root and Cook come good when the tests start.

By the time I get to Perth for Test I expect Overton and Curran to be opening the bowling and series virtually over. But I'm not saying which way!

George Garton called up as cover as Jake Ball has ankle ligament damage. As a biased Essex fan I’m gutted that Porter is injured. Probably would have made the team by now

Probably would have made the team by now I think they'd go with the Sonic the Hedgehog reasoning ('You're too slow!') re. Porter. Garton isn't going to make the Ashes squad, I don't think. He's just warm-up cover. Still, can't do much worse than the ladies...

Dobell was at pains to point out on Twitter time and again that Garton is just cover for a short term period and no more, all looking a bit 02/03 as the cricinfo article suggested.....an injury to any one of Anderson, Woakes or Broad and we could be facing another dry humping

On the bright side, sounds like Ball’s not too badly injured. And England may even go into the Ashes with their opening combination more settled than Australia.

I imagine there were a few brown trousers when Bairstow went off injured today.....good to see Woakes finding form, just need Broad to find some now and that'll be our 3 main seamers finding something on unhelpful pitches.

well well well.....a ton in aus whilst the ashes are still in the balance, time gone past that was a rare occurrence!!! We'll ignore the paucity of the bowling for now, good to see everyone (but the hapless Vince) making a score, and great to see someone going on

Ah Vince. I’m looking forward to a twenty every single innings. He’ll make Cummins and Starc look like medium pacers, and then get out. Ian Bell Redux.

Shaun Marsh, Tim Paine and Cameron Bancroft. That is... a left field selection.
