Warm up match looks like it's going well... what, Vince was dropped three times? Oh.

Dropped twice at slip.....brilliant....these matches are always a bit meh esp when so many people bowl, I've genuinely no idea how many of the bowlers are actually any good other than ncn

Starc's just taken 2 hat tricks in the same match.......always nice to be coming up to an Ashes series with a quick left armer finding some pace and form

I'm not sure about Plunkett SB, think he's great and one of our quickest but I can't see him holding up for a couple of 5 day matches, if we're going to ruin someone can't we choose some non-Yorks players to ruin?

Partisan county considerations aside, I don’t think there’s another England bowler as quick with recent international experience. Wood’s apparently some way off his best. I’m not saying have Plunkett run in all day, but with three other frontline quicks (shame it’s not four but work with what you have), including one who you hope will be included for control, he should only need to bowl four spells a day of four overs a pop.
I’m not saying it’ll work out that way, but that’s the idea.
EDIT: Curran!? Meh...

hmmmm, I see what you are saying, I just don't think he's a long format bowler anymore. The dearth of options following a couple of injuries and ahem 'incidents' in the bowling attack is very worrying, especially given the obvious lack of options in the batting line up. Being really frank though, whoever is brought in to replace Finn shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11 anyway as Broad, Anderson, Woakes, + 1 of Ball or COverton should all be first in line anyways.

Trouble is, Broad looks out of form, and Woakes has been bowling straight up and down. But you’re right, there are no really good options.

Very much enjoying the FB stream for the day nighter, perfect WFH conditions today.....Malan looking good, their leggie chucked some right pies down, can't believe he took 4!! Batting still looks dodgy overall, not convinced this Aussie bowling is up to much really

And Cook seems to be out of form as well. EDIT: It appears Jake Ball is that barricade.

Paul Collingwood on as a sub fielder today, can't be too many injuries away from the starting 11 now.

Cricinfo mentioned Tom Helm. Barrel-scraping noises intensifying.
