And more to the point, the picture shows him touching the wrong side.

Crane on debut. Oh boy. Just in case anyone doubted the location of the wheels. Still, at least it's almost over... my mistake, then there's an interminable limited overs series. So who is going to do a Kerrigan this time around? I believe it's a Rankin when you do it away. And the answer is almost certainly Crane I fear. He called it.

I'm struggling to be interested in this test match, 5-0 bet gone, ashes for England gone....no doubt I'll watch the first session anyway in spite of work tomorrow but the MCG pitch seems to have sapped all enjoyment out of the game!

Curran did alright. Just the one wicket, but economy less than 3 etc.
Rankin just fell apart and was constantly leaving the field. Economy 3.88.

Gods the England team looks weak. Hope they do well but can’t see it with Starc back.

Another top order set of 'failures', if you consider out in the 30s a failure.....NZ tests going to be HUGE for Stoneman and Vince, not that there's anyone queueing up to play there like.
Question for the group....if Cook doesn't really score anything 2nd innings either, can he consider this a successful tour on the back of a 'decent' average which is entirely propped up by one innings (on the flattest of flat pitches), or is it looked at as a failure based on 8 failures out of 9??? Personally, i'd class it as a failed series if this does happen, though certainly wouldn't be calling his place in the side into question.
Same question of Broad, another who on the back of 1 innings with the ball and a 50 on the MCRoad was hailed as back amongst a number of commentators, if he doesn't really do it here will all criticism be forgotten for another series?
Re Curran, tough to tell bowling on that pitch, certainly deserves a bit of a run and a chance in this test, but i'd rather have Coverton from what i've seen.

Oh ffffffffffs Joe Root

Calamity. Could've had 2 with the new ball in 3 deliveries, they've got 1. Another failure to convert for Root, this is becoming a real real problem.

Oh Joe...
Re. Pierre's earlier post, I'd say it's a failed tour with one defined match. Definitely don't drop him, that's crazy talk. Broad's just had a failed tour, no conditional needed really.

That pitched outside leg surely?
And missing a fourth stump and he hit it.
Otherwise fine

Has Steve Smith been possessed by the spirit of Shane Watson? Horrendous review!!!! Regardless of the inside edge that looked to be missing leg stump by a mile!

If ever Geoffrey's add 2 to the score were relevant :-(

Well that was monumentally shit.
Any idea why we didn’t use a night watchman? I’m usually against them but that seemed like a fairly classic scenario.
