Wasn't sure where else to put this small story but it seemed to fit the category of random cricket stuff.
I volunteer for this local cricket place, just an ordinary club in an amateur county league, nothing special or anything. Anyway, they've had one international cricketer play for them years in the past for a little while. I didn't think much of it until I discovered that it was Glenn Maxwell of all people, playing for some small club in a county that isn't even one of the 18 major ones. Did further research on it and it was all true, bunch of articles on it. Pretty neat anecdote, anyway.
It's called Saham Toney, a tiny Norfolk village in the middle of nowhere. Maxwell decimated the opposition, unsurprisingly. Here's one article as an example, describing how he had made his fifth consecutive century in the league that year, haha:
Balladeer: Happy new year and Christmas and all that to all. (Sorry - again, I mostly browse on mobile, so didn't see your earlier wishes!)

pierredelafranchesca: Gale and Pyrah to support Lions as coaches.....OK, i mean Gale has been shit for Yorks and is potentially neck deep in this racism case, but sure why not. In fact, keep the useless prick.

Balladeer: Definitely needed to be a thread. I came up with one of the same answers as you because I can't see the chatbox on mobile.
