Yorks signed Matt Milnes as a replacement, which feels like a really good signing.
Think (and hope) Patto's release is purely performance related.
Joey Evison supposedly going from Notts to Kent to fill Milnes' shoes.

Patto's release purely age related you'd think, one format bowler 39 years old next year, everyone's time comes eventually.
Except Darren Stevens.

Chappell from Notts. to Derbs. feels like a heck of a coup for Mickey Arthur.

I was shocked to find out Zak Chappell was 25. 25! He looks like Stevo but a foot taller!

Ryan Higgins back to Middlesex on a four year deal. Huge blow for Glos.

Kent releasing Darren Stevens, so at least there's a like for like replacement available for Glos.

James Hildreth retiring at the end of the season. His time had no doubt come, but what a career. 27,000 cross format runs, 54 centuries including 47 in first class cricket. FC Average above 40 even though it's dropped off significantly in the last few years. The lack of any England cap still feels unfair but my word did Somerset benefit.
Looking back now, it's ridiculous that the Trescothick/Hildreth/Kieswetter/Trego generation managed to win nothing bar the 2005 T20 and the 2019 One Day Cup.

Marchant de Lange as a non-overseas to Gloucs. Interesting one, not sure he's ever quite cracked it in English conditions but he's a huge amount of fun with bat and ball.

Shan Masood & Ben Mike to Yorkshire. Masood makes an incredible amount of sense, excellent player and captaincy material. Mike is an odder one, capable of some really good performances but nothing like consistency.
On the other hand, that does mean Leics have a vacant spot for a hard-hitting all rounder. Could it be?

Leics. is generally the last chance saloon for ageing eternal pros.

Also noticed him on the BBL Overseas list (although who isn't on that list..) so who knows, after a good bash he may be too busy in IPL/CPL/Hundred to play for Leics!

Pretty gutted that Ollie Robinson is leaving Kent for Durham. Knew it was coming because of his desire to keep in all three formats, but still, that's a quality player gone.

Knee jerk reaction after one match against the best team in the country, but I'm not getting the Ben Mike to Yorks move!

Squad player I guess. He is someone who can pull out great performances but isn't consistent, so maybe a bit of a rough diamond. Like for like replacement for Waite?

The pitch at Notts this round is WORSE for the game than the pitch at Essex last game week.
