Is Stokes the most over rated cricketer in international cricket? Bit of a reverse mockers effort....but I can't help thinking he's a bit high at 5, and is prob 4th choice bowler...... No.. No he's not. Even in defeat that was incredible. Ever the pessimist, I back sl at 4 to 1 tho... So silver linings etc

Well, that was... unexpected. Maybe it shouldn’t have been though? Pitch and situation felt a lot like the Champion’s Trophy semi, and while some of England’s players are now equipped to deal with that, others (Buttler, Ali) still aren’t. Once Woakes had a brain fade it was all over.
Actually yes it still should have been, it was Sri Lanka and a target of 233. Still, I back England to win at least one of the next three matches. Two, on the other hand...
Oh, and where has their ability to chase absurd scores gone?

They're our bogey team it seems, but this was much more of a shock than the heavy defeats in 2011 and 2015
Talking of bogey teams... England haven't beaten any of Australia, India and New Zealand in world cups since 1992...

Some comeback for Rashid Khan after being hit for 11 sixes by Morgan. Bowling the 47th over to a team that’s 5 down and only conceding 1 wide is top class

21 players batted on that pitch and only Kohli struck it at over 100. Different gravy, he is.
England will be hoping Afghanistan have had a good look at the pitch and can beat Bangladesh there on Monday!

Braithwaite literally one foot away from winning the game in the most incredible way ever. Wowzers. Best day of the comp by far!!
New Zealand have edged the three close games they’ve been in, lucky or brilliant under pressure?

It's more than England have done!
At this stage SA are just rolling over to have their tummy tickled, aren't they.

Good win for Pakistan keeps their slim chance to qualify just about alive while the tournament goes from bad to worst for South Africa.

Last minute decision to transfer in Shakib and skipper him turned out quite nicely today, that man is having an absurdly brilliant world cup. As they said on commentary, he would walk in to any team in international cricket, no questions asked. Definitely the best all rounder in the world at the moment in the short form.

Wouldn't fancy batting first against Starc and Cummins in this gloom...

England haven't beaten Australia in a World Cup since 1992 apparently. That famous match where Botham took them apart with ball and bat. One of my all-time favourite matches. How time has flown (looks wistfully to camera...)

I’m staying as far away from this game as possible. The situation’s ripe for Warner and Maxwell to rack up 350 and pretty much put England out.
