After picking up his 400th wicket earlier today, Dale Steyn joins an elite list that is home to some of the best bowlers to have every played cricket. But the big question is, is he the best bowler of the modern era?
If you don't think he is, here is a stat that will change your mind.
No bowler with over 400 wickets has a strike rate lower than 50, Hadlee is the best with 50.8, Steyn's SR is 41.6 And no bowler who has taken at least 150 wickets has a better strike rate than Steyn has.
Best bowler of the modern era without a doubt.

Don't think there's much to say on this. It's him or Murali, surali. (Sorry.) Modern great, good on all sorts of pitches.

I would struggle to argue with him being the best.
Genuine pace, doesn't need swinging conditions to take wickets. For a seam bowler to have a test bowling average of 22 in Asia is incredible. His worst bowling average is in Europe where it is 31. Figures rarely lie. Steyn is the best I have ever seen in the flesh, and he is a lovely guy having spoken to him at a Kent game for a couple of hours.

Sorry for DP - Steyn averages 5 wickets per game and 2.6 per innings. Superb.
