Well that's the team balance sorted at least. Harry Brook replaced Sibley in the Lions squad too, putting him firmly in pole position for the "debuting in the fifth test at 3-1 down" role. Where's that 1 coming from! The Aussies not being very good. This is a series between a resistible force and a movable object. I can see Wood and Robinson having a good test somewhere along the line and Root getting a double ton, but I can't see it happening enough.

TBH, i've no idea how this tour is going to go, like you say they are pants as well, but I can't help but look at their bowling line up and think that'll cause our very fragile batting order muchos problemos, could easily be a 5 nil to Aus, equally could see us scraping 1 or 2 tests if Smith doesn't fire with the bat. I lean to the former as I don't think we're in India's class in tests atm and couldn't see us doing to aus what they did. A lot rests on Wood and Robinson's shoulders as Jimmy and Broad have been there and (mainly) not done it time and again.

Seems a bit vanilla compared to the shit going on in England at the moment!

Rather good of the Aussies to have a good old fashioned sex scandal to make us all feel better, and it being Tim Paine does make it funnier.
He may not win the Ashes, but he does win the Botham-Sangakkara Trophy.

So that means Cummins as captain, that's a heavy workload on top of bowling in 5 Tests in 6 weeks or whatever it is...

Obviously it's not a core part of the story, but I cannot hear anyone say "dick pic" in an Antipodean accent without falling about laughing at the idea of this whole storm being about pictures of ducks.

Go on then. Who's your attack for the first match if it happens?
If Stokes is fit it's probably Broad, Ollie, Wood, Leach, Stokes for me - which has the advantage of a rather nice acrostic.

Think I'd agree with that really.

We may end up escaping with a draw in Brisbane, the weather forecast at the mo is looking a touch wet

Aus name their team three days early... or probably a bit more than that considering the forecast.
