I think that drop might be the game.

The match referee Andy Pycroft might have the most unenviable job in world cricket after this.
Brilliant game though, I hope India don't tip over into full conspiracy theorist outrage and just accept that sometimes close calls go the other way and the best teams win anyway.

Shockingly comfortable final margin for SA, think India gave up a little towards the end there.
Big fan of Bavuma topping the averages with 73.66 and a high score of 52, proper red ink work there. Petersen scored 50 more runs and averaged 46, Elgar similar. All three scored more than any Indian bar King Legend, so that's the series.

well.....that's one fkin hell of a test and series win for SA, twice chasing 200+ comfortably, fair play to India though, it's hard to compete away from home but they consistently do it, everywhere, certainly the best team in the world.

Good to see Matt Henry taking a few wickets. Been absolutely brilliant for Kent and has a far higher Test average than a bowler of his calibre should. Hopefully the start of a run in the side.

And scoring a few runs! Must quite legitimately be the best number 11 in the history of the game. Ridiculous batting depth for NZ.

Feel bad for SA though, quite the shift from their last series.

There only seems to be one team in world cricket who are capable of consistently competing (maybe not winning, but at least competing) away from home, the sods them, India really are very strong aren't they.

Travis Head bowling inside the first 20 overs would suggest the Aussies may have got their selection wrong. Sad times.

Might be the pitch? Would be funny in a dour way if Australian cricket came back to Pakistan, only to find/remember it was bollocks.

People who've seen the pitch suggest it looks a bit like the ones Pakistan used to play on in the UAE - so expect the first half of the test to be slow and grinding accumulation and the second half to be turning square wild west cricket.

I hate those pitches. Three dull days and two exciting ones is not a good Test match surface.

They don't make great tests, but they definitely make for great sessions towards the end.

Six wickets in three days (one a run out) and barely a run scored in front of square. Yaaaawn.
