He has form, the epic attempt at a draw vs India in 2015 he made 25 off 244, magnificent to see though, and Surrey could just squeeze out an incredibly unlikely draw here

Should be easily doable from here I'd say - pitch still pretty good and they bat properly deep since Virdi was nightwatchman. Top effort nonetheless, not easy to bat like that for hour after hour

Jamie Overton batting at a strike rate below 50 is definitely the equivalent of Amla's 3 off 100.

You've got to love that from Surrey, 122 off 105 overs. Hats off to Amla, takes some nerve and so much self control! That must have been horrible to bowl at him today

Bit bored so had a quick look at the overall situation as it stands, with next week the final set of games for all teams (11th-14th July)
Group C: (the boring group) Division 1: Yorks (141), Lancs (139) Division 2: Northants (113), Glammy (111) Division 3: Kent (86), Sussex (83)
Yorkshire vs Lancashire (Headingley) Glamorgan vs Northants (Sophia Gardens) Kent vs Sussex (Canterbury)
Nothing to see here. All already done and dusted. Rather neatly, the remaining games are 1 v 2, 4 v 3 and 5 v 6, and three very tight but meaningless (unless there's positional prize money?) battles for position
Group B: Division 1: Somerset (134), Gloucs (129) Division 2: Hants (123), Surrey (112) Division 3: Leics (107), Middlesex (63)
Surrey vs Somerset (Oval)
Gloucestershire vs Hampshire (Cheltenham) Middlesex vs Leicestershire (Northwood)
Middlesex confirmed into D3, with Somerset off to the big time with a draw, and almost any loss. Realistically, Somerset + Gloucs/Hants to D1. The big surprise, Surrey could well be pushed into D3 despite the draw points against Hants this week
Group A: Division 1: Notts (137), Warks (131) Division 2: Durham (122), Essex (118) Division 3: Worcs (97), Derbys (63)
Derbyshire vs Essex (Derby) Durham vs Notts (Chester-le-Street) Worcs vs Warks (Worcester)
Only Derbyshire confirmed here too, who might field a weak side against Essex, so I think realistically the top four are all in the mix.
Seems plausible that we won't see any changes to the current D1/D2/D3 rosters - but nice to have this much CC excitement in July!

The Group C games have some meaning (especially Yorks/Lancs) as your points against the side going into the same division as you count in the next stage (or count half, the average of the two games you've played).
For the same reason, Somerset really want Hants to beat Gloucs.

I have a Marnus-feeling in my waters today, so brought him in to my fantasy team for Will Rhodes even though Rhodes is playing and in form.
So bring in Rhodes if you have any sense!

Oh, Kent have done an England and quarantined their whole team.
Heino Kuhn plays the Ben Stokes role and they're putting out a team of kids. Could be interesting stuff, as Sussex have been doing that all season.

Surrey have put together an absolute bunsen for Ashwin, Virdi and Moriarty to bowl on. I'm sure the ECB will look on this with all the displeasure they did when we tried it, and cause one of their home grown spinners to have to leave.
Somerset have won the toss and have Jack Leach and Roelof mind. Actually might work out well for Somerset as we have huge gaps in our seam bowling attack with Coverton, Gregory and Davey out.
Ashwin bowling to Conway is a treat for streamers.

Kent have been terrible all season, despite WCotY Stevens. This is unlikely to make them much better, but worth a try? Surrey have put together an absolute bunsen for Ashwin, Virdi and Moriarty to bowl on. I'm sure the ECB will look on this with all the displeasure they did when we tried it, and cause one of their home grown spinners to have to leave. hahahahaha

A 47th first class ton for James Hildreth. I feared that one might not come to be honest, but delighted it has. Great timing as well, it's turning already and by the end of tomorrow runs are going to be very hard to get here.
