Fabulous start to the tournament today, Hamanpreet Kaur thumping 103 of 51 balls in the opening match.

Not bad from 5 that. India have a heck of a batting lineup, with Smriti and a couple of other very talented young bats up top and Mithali Raj down at 6.
Aus v Pakistan on now. Aus are apparently sending Ellyse Perry in at 7. 7!

Watching Ireland v Australia, two of the Irish top four have been bowled attempting to scoop straight balls from Ellyse Perry. That's quite the high risk strategy...
Edit: and a five run penalty for running on the pitch for the batting side... looked more than a little bit harsh.

The five run penalty looked very harsh, seems like the umpires are coming down hard on people running on the danger area.

England off to a winning start against a poor Bangladesh side. Shrubsole and Sciver opening looked very good, bit more concern about how the spinners would fare against better bats though. Brunt is a big miss.

Australia and India qualify for the semi-finals from group B, important match for England against South Africa later today.

England cruised to that, nice hattrick from Shrubsole. A Windies win tonight and England are through.
England's oldest player today was 28, and what with central contracts and t20 leagues around the world, cricket is definitely now a sustainable women's career for the top few... this group could be a dominant force for the next few years potentially...

Been rather enjoying this tournament and watched every England game.
So the semi-final being on at midnight UK time and 5:30 am Indian time is a bit shit, tbh.

And an England vs Australia final. Two surprisingly one sided semis, disappointing for both the home side and a young India side who really did look the business at times.

Would have wanted two closer matches, but fantastic performance from England.
