Afghans off to a tricky start, India 223/1 off 41 overs and well poised for 300+ with a productive last nine and wickets in hand.
Oh, it's a test. This is one hell of a scoring rate then... Rashid Khan 12-0-82-0 sounds like my weekend efforts.

Bit more of a baptism by fire than Ireland got. Doesn’t help that Afghanistan are unlikely to play any home Tests for years and years.

Baptism by fire interrupted by baptism by water - raining in Bangalore. Earth and Air to follow I assume...

At the same time on day four, when the spinners give the ball lots of flight as dust clouds are spat up.
Not sure it’ll go to day five unless it really rains.

Ireland had the sense to ease themselves in with a home fixture against an often flaky Pakistan side....not sure playing the best team in the world on their home patch was ever going to work out well for Afghanistan! They should have tried playing the Windies away or in Dubai, not that they had any choice in the matter like

They wanted to play their first Test against India because India have essentially given them two home grounds in the country. I assume they were okay with getting hammered to begin with, which only means that the only way is up from there.
Forget day four, I highly doubt this goes into day 3.

You weren’t wrong Sri. Can’t help feeling this won’t help Afghan Test Cricket. Which is a shame, as I think they’re likely better than than Ireland will be, but you didn’t see that today.
