Could do worse than make 131* from 60-odd for four in front of the England captain. All aboard the Popemobile, pulling up alongside the Madswagon.

I'm glad I'm young. I may yet get to see a competent Hants batting performance in my lifetime.

Samit's run out yesterday: not quite in the the same class as the one where he fell over, but still a classic of the genre. Second only to Inzamam as the greatest run-out merchant in cricket history.

Another hundred for Jennings. Him and Pope the only England-qualified batsmen to score more than one century so far this season I think.

Cook Jennings Vince (that cover drive) Root Pope Stokes Bairstow Clarke Bess Broad Anderson Interestingly article on the Mail this morning suggests Gubbins in for Stoneman and Stokes and Bairstow moving up a spot each with Livingstone batting at 7. Sounds a bit weird if you ask me. Stoneman is statistically one of the better openers we've tried since Strauss retired (I believe he's second only to Root and Robson, by a hair, in terms of average) and while that says it's been a shower of mediocrity I think he did enough over the winter to have the Pakistan series at least. Wouldn't mind seeing Gubbins in at 3 though. Anyway, always nice to lose a wicket after 1 o clock when lunch should've been called... ggggrrrrrrrrr.

Broad bowling to Anderson at Trent Bridge. Tasty. Quiet on here today - everyone else has lives, obviously!

I don't have a life, I'm just trying to ignore and hide from the fact Hampshire a rapidly falling from title challengers to relegation battlers... It appears Abbott is now injured (well, he hasn't bowled), so our long list of injured players grows further
