Quite right, Liam Dawson is clearly England's premier left arm spinner

You’re right, sorry.
Clearly we should’ve had Samit Patel for the Ashes.

Rabada in disciplinary bother potentially (again). Hope he’s not banned, in the interest of keeping this series tight

Dean Elgar is bloody good at them there battings. Joint-most instances of bat-carrying.

Cameron Bancroft could be in trouble for ball-tempering.

Sledging and crowd abuse is shit no matter who does it and who is on the end of it, but hearing the worst perpetrators of both moaning and whining about it does raise an eyebrow and a smile

Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft confirm that they tried to change the condition of the ball.

An ugly series gets uglier, way uglier. Can't imagine Smith and Bancroft coming out of this in anything other than pure disgrace, surely they'll not be playing a number of tests? No idea what kind of punishment there is but they've admitted cheating, admitted planning it as a team.....I mean jesus....doesn't get much worse than this does it

It's quite clear that the Aussies have been cheating like this for a while, I think their last two test series need to be overturned to 5-0 defeats too.

Steve Smith has just admitted that the senior players discussed it and decided it would be a good idea. Pre-meditated cheating, I hope they get the book thrown at them. Find it hard to believe that Lehmann didn't know about it either

If I've read the ICC code of conduct correctly, possible punishments for ball tampering are:
50-100% Match fee fine, 3 demerit points 1 Test ban, 3 demerit points 2 Test ban, 4 demerit points (which then automatically triggers a further ban for accumulating demerit points)
If it were up to me, I'd fine the entire team (which would trigger bans for Warner and Lyon), and ban Bancroft and Smith. Smith certainly getting the full (effectively) 3 Test ban (/2Tests 2 ODIs /1 Test 4 ODIs).
If the suggestions that Handscomb relayed a message to cover-up prove true, slap him with a 1 Test ban (doesn't make sense to fine a proportion of a match fee from someone not actually playing, but a ban is a punishment because he'd definitely come in with Warner, Bancroft and Smith all suspended) and charge Lehmann as well, though not really sure how the sanctions work with coaches.
Edit: did misread: rather than 1-2 test bans it's 1-2 'suspension points', with 1 point for ODI/T20 and 2 for a Test. And the demerit suspensions and straight up suspensions serve concurrently, despite the CoC going to great lengths to confusingly clarify they don't replace each other.

I just remembered that Bancroft is Somerset's overseas this season. Could be fun.

If he has instigated and encouraged this then Darren Lehman is no longer an honorary Yorkshireman in my book.

Good Lord the reaction to this has been hilarious. The bloody prime minister! It's not good but people are reacting like they've snuck a hand grenade onto the pitch and bowled it at ABDV.
