The under 19 world cup begins on Friday night in New Zealand, it should be a pretty interesting tournament with plenty of games televised. The tournament should be pretty open with India and Afghanistan the form teams and England having some promising players. Here's the full England squad: Harry Brook (C), Ethan Bamber, Liam Banks, Tom Banton, Jack Davies, Adam Finch, Luke Hollman, Will Jacks, Tom Lammonby, Dillon Pennington, Savin Perera, Tom Scriven, Prem Sisodiya, Fin Trenouth, Roman Walker. I think the England players to look out for are Captain Harry Brook, promising Surrey all-rounder Will Jacks and Middlesex opener Savin Perera. The tournament started yesterday with Afghanistan beating Pakistan, Zimbabwe winning against PNG, Namibia losing to Bangladesh and New Zealand beating West Indies.

I’ve played with Luke Hollman, hope he does well. You’ll be glad to hear he’s better than I am.

England won their first match against Namibia easily last night. Great all-round performance from Will Jacks and a promising spell of leg-spin from Hollman.

Pwoper nwaughty bit of controversy in yesterday's SA vs West Indies match. What with this and the Mankad in the last World Cup the Windies probably aren't making too many friends. Within the rules though.

Yeah, I'll support their right to mankad batsmen trying to gain the advantage, but that's just bellendery.
On the other hand, the highlights of Harry Brook's 102* warm the soul (on Cricinfo). Footwork against the spinners, now there's something you don't see enough of from English batsmen. Yorkshire have another good one there you'd think... although hopefully he won't go the way of Jack Burnham who was similarly impressive in the last edition.

I agree Harry Brook is a good talent, I think Will Jacks also has huge potential.

Someone remind me to put Brook in my fantasy team for next summer, potentially cheap and guaranteed a a spot in the most brittle of brittle orders.....glad to see him doing well, mega chuffed. As for the Windies, poor poor form, should be embarrassed, but equally batsmen should know better

England destroyed by an Australian leg-spinner with stupid hair. Sounds familiar...

England destroyed by an Australian leg-spinner with stupid hair. Sounds familiar... Certainly some divine inspiration from Pope...

Jeepers, just seen the highlights on cricinfo, some horrible horrible shots in there....England should have strolled that by the looks of it but gave it away to the spinners
