If only they'd shown a bit more of that fight in the first innings eh?

Excellent points being made about the potential top Zimbabwean team if the country/cricket board had actually got its act together. Someone came up with the following:
C Chibhaba, H Masakadza, G Ballance, B Taylor, C Ervine, S Ervine , S Williams, S Curran, T Curran, G Cremer, K Jarvis
While I'm not exactly quaking in my boots, that's a much more impressive team than they have currently. Also: much whiter. Make of that what you will.

Yeah, even if all those players weren't available that would not be the team picked. You can make a similar Zimbo diaspora team for Rugby where at least 5-6 internationals for other countries including David Pocock who is one of the best in the world were born in Zim. A lot of sporting talent.

It's spinning now. Come on Crervine, seven Moor.
There we go! Very well played, pancake-ness of pitch notwithstanding.

Very good century for Craig Ervine, making New Zealand pay for dropping him on one. Also maiden fifty for Moor, hopefully they can carry on.

Glad to see that they can at least score on roads.

Pakistan couldn't score on a road last week so credit where it's due to the Zimbabweans. Superb debut knock from PJ Moor, just a shame he couldn't go on with it. Ervine's been exceptional though, he was just boiling towards a proper score like this in the 1st test. Even with the road argument this is still big for the Zimbabweans, just to know they can get runs against a big Test nation is a good thing for the youth coming through, it's inspiring.

Good to see him going on as well. Must have been so tempting, when he basically knew the win wasn't there, to start playing shots after he got his ton.

Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. Well done to New Zealand's best bowling partnership: Reiffel and Gough. Reiffel may have taken more wickets, but Gough provided strong support from the other end.

The umpiring was awful, at least 4 bad decisions in the innings.

Really disheartening for the Zimbabweans to suffer like that when everything is already against them!

True that but hey let's not forget a masterful display by the best spinner of the match.
Martin "deserves to be in the side as a spinner" Guptill. Career-best figures.

I've cheekily used my mod. powers to change the title of Steadzz' topic. First Test against SA today let's do it!

Pretty even first session of the test, Amla looks in really good touch.
