Moe Ali against left arm pace. Should be a fun time, albeit not a long time.

Grafty fifty for Gaz Baz. I didn't want him back in the side, but this is good stuff. Slow stuff, but good stuff. Hope he goes on.
Borthwick -> Vince.

Pretty sure Vince's 39 means we will see him again in the next test for one final chance. Having said that, if he has a great ODI series he might still manage to keep going. Surely 7 tests with no 50 will mean he's dropped though

0/1. 297 could yet prove a good total! I'd fancy Pakistan for a small lead, maybe 25 odd.

This is why I love cricket. On a day where one could argue that Finny & Woakes were Winny (the Poo)...the last two wickets go to Woakes & Vince......ie......Wince.

They said that Edgbaston's best for batting on days two and three. Didn't realise it would be that much of a change. Cripes, blimey, roobish, sticks o' roobarb etc. etc.

Of course. But doubt that is necessary. This is either a dull draw or an England win. Don't see Pakistan winning this from here.

Duly noted. I think the chances of a draw are very slim. One of these two teams will collapse. Nevertheless, we're talking Saturday breakfast in bed with cricket and cocktails. Do I honestly care who wins?

Sky's Saturday debate tomorrow is on what is the best test world XI currently. Might be interesting - I'll try and report back!

That would be great as I can't watch it.

Tricky one, always relies on what pitch it would be but without knowing and going for an all round side I'd pick:
1. A Cook 2. D Warner 3. J Root 4. S Smith 5. V Kohli 6. K Williamson 7. AB De Villiers (WK) 8. M Starc 9. K Rabada 10. R Herath 11. J Anderson
Warner is the only one I wavered over, not many great openers around so was tempted to play someone out of possession. Feels odd leaving out Amla. Steyn, Shah and a few others but I can't shift anyone in this side. Could maybe do with a true pace bowling all rounder, but it's probably a bit too early for Chris Woakes...

Williamson isn't below Smith for me...even if his Yorkshire appearances were lackluster. I think he was bored. And though that by no means makes him a beacon of work ethic and team camaraderie, Smith just doesn't do it for me. I'd put DeVilliers at 4 (who wouldn't be my wk), Kohli at 5 and Williamson at 6. Maybe at 7 Smith could be anything other than a flat track bully.
Also, it is NEVER too early for Woakesy.

So who are you getting to keep wicket in your side if you're playing batsmen down to seven?
