Cricinfo have put up their first two county previews. Surely time to switch back the rankings again? Will have to make a few changes: Footitt's moved into the same club as Dernbach (who can never leave the rankings, NEVER), Middx. have lost Fireball, and presumably, for the love of common sense, Barrow's been removed from the Somerset squad? Nemo?
Also inb4 Sri starts his campaign to get Rushworth into the rankings.

Yes, probably is time. Afterall, the Championship starts in less than two weeks.
I'll make the changes after the World T20 final. Provides a natural close to the off season and gives us a few days to think about who should go where! ^^

This is what we've currently got:
0: Danish Kaneria (0)
1: Jade Dernbach – Surr. (0) 5: Alex Barrow – Som. (0) 10: Kieran Noema-Barnett – Gloucs. (1) 20: Keaton Jennings – Dur. (1) 40: Karl Brown – Lancs. (1) 60: Ben Duckett – Nhants. (2) 80: Neil Fireball Dexter – Middx. (2) 100: Mark Cosgrove – Leics. (2) 150: Rob Key – Kent (3) 200: Samit Patel – Notts. (3) 300: Graham Wagg – Glam. (3) 400: Sam Hain – Warks. (4) 600: Steve Magoffin – Suss. (4) 850: James Vince – Hants (4) 1150: Mark Footitt – Derbs. (5) 1700: Gary Ballance – Yorks. (5) 2300: Alastair Cook – Ess. (5) 3500: Jack Shantry - Worcs. (6)
10000: WG Grace (7)
I can happily provide a Middler to replace Fireball (Gubbins for name quality, Roland-Jones for actual quality as well), but I'm guessing that whoever replaces Footitt will also take a tumble through the ranks. The only other Derbs. play I remember off the top of my head is Thakor.

As fun as it was trying to get rushie in, this season I'm going to go for brigadier block seeing as this might be his last season and as the only English captain to have won a world tournament he deserves at least that

Surely you wouldn't break up the tubbsters like that, Matt?

Keysey seems more pundit than player nowadays!
Besides, I like the idea of some change. New season and all that.

Cook doesn't really play enough for Essex to qualify, could we replace him with Ravi Ravster?
Also is it too soon for Mason Sidney Crane to be the Hampshire option? It's such a great name...

One more suggestion: young Abell is far too talented to be down where he is. He's got to be around the Sam Hain mark.
Which leaves something of a dearth of rubbish players, especially with Keaton Jennings out. I'd say that Gubbins could be a bit lower than TRJ, to Ballance things out.

Alastair Cook is my hero.
I considered putting Crane in, but he's only played a couple of games. He'll probably be in next season when he's proved himself a bit more and there's the possibility Vince will be playing more for England.
Will happily move Abell up.
I don't mind not having many rubbish players - everything is relative after all. Still, I have nothing against Gubbins going in instead.

If you want a rubbish Somerset player, Alex Barrow is still on the books. He's not likely to play much this season.

A very sad day to see Keaton removed. Definitely agree with Balladeer though, Samit should be below Northeast!
