The default rank system is quite boring, so how about a cricket related one?
Thing is, I'm not sure how to do it so suggestions welcome! For example
1 Post - Sunday League 50 Posts - Second XI 150 Posts - First XI 300 Posts - International
etc.
Just an idea to get you all started!

Sounds good to me! I am right in thinking that the posts in the shoutbox don't count towards these amounts?

Yes, good rankings are lots of fun (and yes, Steadzz, you're right). I'd have gone for: No posts: Arrested for corruption 1 post: Brad Haddin 5 posts: Alex Barrow 10 posts: Keaton Jennings 20 posts: Ted "Fireball" Dexter . . . XXXX posts: AB de Villiers XXXX+Y posts: Don Bradman XXXXXXXXXXX posts: Jack Shantry Or something like that.

How did Keaton muster into double figures?!

I like that theme Balladeer, although choosing each category might be a challange!

The main problem is that it would change from time to time, unless we went for all classic players. I know it's tough to imagine, but eventually people may forget about Alex Barrow.
But I'm up for keeping the rankings fresh! I did something very much like this on a Nintendo forum. I would, however, need contributions of particular fan-favourite players (and fan-loathed players) from up and down the CC. I can probably do Middlesex, maybe Warks.
Oh - Dernbach or Haddin for the second-lowest rank?

As much as I dislike Haddin, I'd probably go Dernbach to keep it all CC orientated.
But then I like the idea of the Don and AB being there too. Hmm.

Okay, nothing set in stone but I figured I'd create something just to get us started.
0: Danish Kaneria 1: Jade Dernbach 5: Alex Barrow 10: Keaton Jennings 20: Karl Brown 40: Rob Key 60: Steve Magoffin 80: James Vince 100: Young Jonny Bairstow 150: Alastair Cook 500: Jack Shantry 25000: WG Grace.
I had the post counts higher at first - 0, 1, 25, 50, 100, 200 right up to Shantry at 10,000 - but I didn't want to stuck with a load of Jade Dernbachs for weeks..
As the forum ages the numbers will increase. For now if you have any changes you make do say - it's all for just a bit of fun.

Aye, I think that's a good starting point. Ideally, I think we'd want someone from each county (possibly two from Surrey and whoever Kaneira/Grace used to play for), to give everyone good/bad representation. (I'd nominate Fireball for 30, but we may want to save the lower ranks for Leics. and Kent players.) Although that will lead to problems with people like Sri protesting that Durham's chosen player is a rubbish one... Oh, and - James Vince above Steve Magoffin? Hampshire bias scorching through!

What's that they say? Rank has its privileges! Gotta be bias somewhere, so here seems a good bet...

Steadzz is already up to Keaton Jennings! But it seems a bit early for him to have the coveted three stars. Over the weekend, Mattzo, I think I'll come up with a full set - one for each county. If you've no objection?

Stars go right up to 10 - I suppose I should increase moderator/admin stars to compensate!
No objection at all, the current one was always meant to be temporary.

I'm really against having 3 stars as Keaton Jennings. He is 2 stars at best. I agree with you that we should probably have more ranks.

Also, Matt, quite funny that I've got my rank in bold while you don't.

I was experimenting and forgot. Right adjusted the star system, number is in brackets: 0: Danish Kaneria (0) 1: Jade Dernbach (0) 5: Alex Barrow (1) 10: Keaton Jennings (1) 20: Karl Brown (2) 40: Rob Key (2) 60: Steve Magoffin (3) 80: James Vince (3) 100: Young Jonny Bairstow (4) 150: Alastair Cook (4) 500: Jack Shantry (5) 25000: WG Grace. (6) Mod and admin get 7.
