Not even May yet and List A stuff is already here!
Kolpakshire have a distinct lack of Kolpaks in their squad this week. Sean Ervine being the only non Englishman to feature. Lots of youth too. Vince, Dawson, and Wood have been around a fair while, but there is also Alsop, Topley, Crane, Hart, Holland, McManus to go with the old timers Carberry, Adams, Ervine and Smith.

Having a little look at this and actually I think they've done a really decent job of the schedule here. Bit early in the year fair enough, but group stages in a block and a final at Lord's in high summer. Can't ask for much more than that.
Will be interesting to see how strong the teams are, Hampshire resting a few may be one off or it may be the start of marginalising the format - hopefully not though.
Surrey v Somerset on Friday looks like a big early game.

Rossouw, Edwards, Wheal are all injured. Berg doesn't play limited overs for us most of the time. Only Abbott is being rested I assume.

Ian Holland is an Aussie, but yes, still a much more young English team. Holland is 26 and has one first-class and no List A or t20 appearances, interestingly, be interesting to see if he gets anywhere. Sadly he's not South African so can't make my fantasy squad, I imagine he'd be on the cheaper end as I had no idea who he was!
Indeed, he's not even available for selection on the fantasy leagues but he's in the team! Good luck to the lad, a real curve ball being thrown here. Crane in which is good to see, and Wood hasn't played for a while either

Fantasy captain Hales scores 13 off 22 - good thing Notts have two games in this gameweek...
Yeah, I'd never heard of Holland and he wasn't on the team list before today I don't think, will have to flick through the sides this evening and add a few more names I think!

Lumb (c) and Rudolph giving South Africashire a very solid start!
Hampshire with yet another fast bowler getting injured, Wood joining Wheal and Edwards on that list in his first game for a year and first limited overs game since 2015! Hopefully short term, comms didn't think it was his knee this time at least

Fantastic unbeaten century from Alsop to guide Hampshire to a convincing win.

So it turns out the secret to a successful fantasy team is to fill it with South Africans! I guess there are plenty of counties doing it and England did/do it well too so maybe this wasn't a surprise at all...

Great win for Hampshire (except for losing another player to injury) and fantastic to have Alsop finally in the runs after so long. Could still have 4 games out of the 6 finishing which isn't awful. But I agree, these shouldn't be scheduled so early, what with it snowing in some grounds a few days ago.

Hameed playing his first non FC game today. Will be interesting to see if his strike rate in the shorter form remains Boycott-esque or he's got a more attacking style up his sleeve

Karl Brown 6 off 16. Some things should never change.
