What's the record County Championship List A opening partnership? (Probably from back in the day when Langer and that lot played county stuff.)

Don't know about the English record, but the all time record for the opening wicket is this: www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/736201.htmlSecond wicket highest (which is the highest ever) was Gayle & Samuels at the world cup last year which was 372 runs

303/0 in the 36th. This is going to be a massive score. Can you declare in one day cricket?

The world record List A team score is 496/4, by Surrey against Gloucs in 2007. Second best is 443/9 by Sri Lanka against the Netherlands.

Feels a bit cruel to say that Notts. are falling apart a bit, after reaching their highest ever List A score, but... let's be honest, from 224/0 after 30 they are a bit, aren't they?

Yeah, the rest have been a bit silly. Similar to the T20 the other night where Wessels/Lumb did all the hard work.

Second highest List A total of all time is a pretty decent effort, but at one point I thought they were challenging for 500...

Couldn't even double the thirty-over score. Pshah.

Weird Hampshire team. Alsop is down as keeper, despite Wheater playing, McManus (a keeper batsman) is listed as number 11, although that will certainly change. No Carberry despite him having been named in the squad. HK Adams, TP Alsop†, AJA Wheater, LA Dawson, WR Smith, SM Ervine*, GK Berg, GM Andrew, MS Crane, RA Stevenson, LD McManus Did expect to see Carberry. Odd side as you say - McManus didn't bat, bowl or keep (??). Any idea why Alsop went off? Was looking good. Easy to say now, but I backed Essex to chase that all the way. It's not often that 310 doesn't look like enough but there were almost no edges or misses and the ropes were quite far in. No doubt you're disappointed with the result, and it's no consolation, but it was a great game for the neutral (even the girlfriend - but she does think I should give in and support Hampshire).

This Kleinveldt innings is amazing, 82 off 34 at the moment. Career best.
Reckon Northants could do this.

Northants. gamely keeping up with the RR, mostly through Kleinveldt (maiden century by a long way). Squeaky bum time?

What a crazy start to this competition generally.

Had Northants. won, it would have taught Notts. a stark lesson about preparing a pitch with so little in it for the ball. But they didn't so the point is moot.
