That was actually their second win, they beat Trinidad in their second match. Nice to see Imran Qayyum starting his list A career well, taking 5 wickets in the first 3 matches.

Keaton J is Durham's limited overs captain. Would be interesting to see if he gets his ODI debut before CT. Coughlin to be the vice captain.

My mind has mysteriously gone blank... who is CT? (County Cricket all seems a long time ago ) I came up with Chris Tremlett, but I think Keaton would've had to've made his ODI debut aged 12 to be before Tremlett's!

Googling has unearthed Essex's 19 year old Callum Taylor. Never heard of him! CT Scan? Cthulhu, perhaps, now that would be an interesting ODI

Cthulhu, perhaps, now that would be an interesting ODI 'And the score's currently 154 for six men driven insane.'

I've made the decision that I'm going to switch to supporting Durham this season. Granted, it means next to nowt, since I'm unlikely to actually go to a Durham game, and they won't play Middlesex in the competition that matters to me (and likely not in the other two anyway, North/South groups and that). But I don't like how they've been treated, I do like that they produce lots of bowlers, and my favourite current cricketer (Mark Wood) plays for them (when uninjured).
So: yay, go Durham! Ignore my very southern accent and smash those second-division teams!

With Balladeer on board, Durham may have just made their most important signing yet! That apart, Durham have not been the only team to be treated like that. All the counties that host test matches face similar problems. When a county wants to host test matches, it is to increase the stadium capacity, refurbish/construct new stands and greatly improve the facilities at the stadium. While financially sound counties get away with the arduous task of balancing books within a short span of time, counties such as Durham and Hampshire are/were greatly affected due to these heavy costs. Hants were also in a perilous position much akin to Durham's, as were Lancs. Its a chain reaction with the counties needing to spend huge costs to get test matches which do not yield desired revenue. ECB is surely at fault for this farce.
