I think Warner might be man of the series. 3 hundreds in 3 innings.
244* in one day of play is pretty impressive.

I was doing the stats of the day and the amount of stats i had to leave was incredible, especially for a first day of a test

And then Australia will knock them over in a couple of sessions. I'm feeling more and more that the toss should only apply to the first match of the series, and in later matches the decisions alternate.

Think it would be fair to say The Aussies are over the Ashes loss... This so far though has really shown they are incredibly strong at home & the Kiwi's have just receievd a backlash that any team could have got.
Well batted Warner either way!

It was a flat pitch at the WACA. I still stand my opinion that it is difficult to get 100s in Australia not because of the conditions but the bowlers. All tracks barring the odd exception are flat and do nothing for the bowlers.
The only way you win is by scoring bucketloads of runs in the first innings and putting psychological scoreboard pressure on the other side. And then having bowlers bowling 90+mph does help there.
Because no matter the pitch, 90+ bowlers always help, especially on roads when there is nothing happening and when you have a huge score to defend.
Given the amount of times they've had fast bowlers and/or legendary bowlers, that is the reason why getting runs in Oz is difficult, not because of flat pitches as was evident from Smith and Kohli scoring centuries for fun in the last Ind OZ series down under.
#Australia are flat track bullies
Their record in UAE and India over the last few years stands testament to that statement.

I have to say that post from Haddin is brilliant. A very funny story, loved the Watson review bit especially!

Maybe I am just miserable, but I didn't find that particularly funny, except for the review bit.
I don't find getting my mates in trouble amusing, that's all.

Not just you at all. Reinforces my belief that anything that's "just banter" is ****ing terrible.
Haddin should at the very least pay Watson the fine. But he won't, because he's a twat.

I agree it's dickish to have not told him sooner though. Especially considering the fact it could have ended his career.

New Zealand really ramped up the bowling performance, a shame that it might be too late. They finished at 140/2 though so there's still fight in them, especially with that man Williamson there.
