The innaugral Day/Night Test is just around the corner now with New Zealand playing a Prime Ministers XI in Canberra to begin what could be the best series of the winter (Sorry England V South Africa) The pink ball is being tested today in a white clothing 50 over game (Scorecard below). I think it's fair to say the bowlers have enjoyed the day so far. New Zealand mustered 307/8 in 50 overs, Tom Latham hit a stunning 131 & Martin Guptill scored 94. However, only 3 other players managed double figures. As I write this the Prime Ministers xi are 95/5. Neesham & Boult with 2 each, Southee with 1. www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v-new-zealand-2015-16/engine/match/905141.html (Cricinfo card) live.cricket.com.au/#/1559/39059 (Cricket Australia's card - more up to date)

Brilliant thread title! Anyone supporting Australia in this... Anyone at all... Hussey's still got it though.

Looking forward to this.

We're being spoilt this winter.

Doubt anyone will support the Aussies! If New Zealand play their best cricket they can win this series. Very excited to see how the D/N test plays out!

The pink ball. That abomination hasn't held its end of the bargain once again. I'm afraid the D/N test might be a farce at this rate, given how rapidly the ball deteriorates.

Uh, quite a bad day for New Zealand. Cricket Australia XI racked up 376/0. Finch 214*, and Carters 156*

I jus saw that and I also saw that Southee only bowled 3 overs and Boult isn't even in the side. Without the most potent new ball bowling pairing in the world atm, it was no surprise the kiwis didn't go well.
When Baz (keeper), Guppy (filthy offie) and Latham (keeper) bowl 12 overs between them, you know the kiwis are having a laugh.

Unusual scenes coming out of this warm-up game, CA XI declared at 503/1 and news is coming through that NZ has declared twice to end the game outright, apparently due to the state of the pitch. More to come I'm sure.

No surprises there, apart from possibly Khawaja. Wasn't that impressed by Burns when he opened for Middx., but I dare say he'll be a sight better on Australian pitches.

Why no Bancroft? Also will Klingon never get a chance? If on the back of a superhuman season he doesn't get one, he might well pack his international bags.

Bancroft is very short of runs at the moment. He'll get his chance.
Can't express how excited i am for this series to start

Very excited for this to begin tonight, difficult to watch around the timezones and all but I'll try and catch as much as possible. Go Kiwis!

Aussies win the toss and bat.
I am excited.
Midnight start times though are very, very bad for my sleep - I am usually awake, so I start watching, then I have to find a way to stop before I exhaust myself.
