they have hope, all right, but any hope they have of winning this match is sinking slowly with that dismissal right on the stroke of tea.

Anyone got a list of bowlers that Kraigg Braithwates best figures are now better than?

Brathwaite's figures of 6/29 are better than the career-best bowling figures of the following players who have taken at least 200 test wickets: (in descending order of most test wickets taken)
Brett Lee (310 wkts) Jacques Kallis (292 wkts) Joel Garner (259 wkts) Graeme Swann (255 wkts) Gary Sobers (235 wkts) Darren Gough (229 wkts) Andrew Flintoff (226 wkts) Jeff Thomson (200 wkts)
He has also has better figures than Vernon "flat-track bully" Philander

The batting has let the Windies down again but what a gutsy last partnership from these two though. Even a few great, controlled shots in there too.

being 80/1 and losing by 72 runs, chasing 244 is just criminal. It was shame no one could give Bravo company. If it wasn't for the last pair it could have been much much worse

Narine has single-handedly turned (spinner joke!) this ODI around. What a difference he makes, when he's not twatting about in pay-as-you-play leagues.*
*Yes I know that the WICB is miserable and that they aren't getting paid much (for which read more than any of us will ever get paid), but I will always turn my nose up at those who snub international cricket for leagues where the only form of identity is who's footing the bill this season.
...Well, I say that, and then Johnson Charles the bowler mucks it up on his own. After Johnson Charles the batsman got 1 off 2. Not the most popular West Indian player right now, at a guess.

Holder's been banned from playing in the 2nd ODI, slow over rate offence.

why are we discussing the windies game on the england thread. Anyhoo Charles who raced off to his fifty in 33 balls is currently holding one firm at 79 off 64. At the other end is everyone's least favorite WI player Samuels.

I dunno, I'm not that fond of Chris Gayle, and then there's Sunil Narine putting T20 leagues before the "national" squad. Marlon Samuels, on the other hand, gave us The Salute. He does seem to fit into the Rohit category of having more talent than application, but that applies to most of the West Indians of today's side.
Anyway, it's bucketing it down again and Charles is out. Done his job, shame about the other three wickets to fall.

You gotta love Gayle, agree with you re Narine. But yes, aside from the salute, Samuels has done little to justify constantly being selected in every format.

West Indies literally running themselves out every other ball currently.
Edit: 4 run outs in 6 balls. Way to ruin the pattern.

Things looked dire for the Windies (and it still does, admittedly), but what a knock from Samuels. A great century in the face of adversity.
