Obviously I'm supporting my home state of Tamil Nadu. I know we aren't serial winners, but we play the style of cricket I love to watch, play on dust bowls and who wouldn't love a team that does just that.
For everyone else, you need to make up your mind and there are 27 teams to choose from.
There have been some suggestions in the blog and in case, anyone wants any further help in selecting a side, feel free to ask me or even do your own research.
Last year's reigning champions are Karnataka and the most successful and populist choice would be Mumbai.
Make your choice wisely.

I could lay a claim for Karnataka because (at the risk of repeating a very weak anecdote from the blog) I've met Mayank Agarwal in a cocktail bar in Bangalore. He seemed very nice.
Failing that, I love a good corporate team, so Railways look attractive.

I needed to choose a team, so Rajasthan it is! C'mon Pankaj! Bowl 'em out via sheer force of will!

Also, while Railways are underdogs, they don't really have an awful lot of players. And another reason is perhaps, given how Taunton is a road, and Bangalore is likewise that would only be fitting.

I will support Jammu & Kashmir as they are underdogs and Parvez Rasool plays from them, who I really like as a player.

Bengal. For a variety of small and not very good reasons, but nobody else has picked it yet!

We need the reasons Matt, however silly they might seem.

Last year's reigning champions are Karnataka and the most successful and populist choice would be Mumbai. Make your choice wisely. Well Tamil Nadu were my original choice because of Abhinav Mukund. But as you are from there, I assumed you supported them! My other two choices are Utter Pradesh & Saurashtra. Utter Pradesh because Praveen Kumar was really good in England in the 2011 tour and I think deserved more chances with the test side. Saurashtra because of Pujara. Him wanting to play in England to better himself against a swinging ball shows how eager he is to improve. Not sure who I want to support. Maybe Pujara's side, but then again I don't really like jadeja... Sri can you advise? Thanks

Well there is no reason why you shouldn't support Tamil Nadu as well. I'd gain a fell supporter and will be pretty glad.
Re the other two options, neither are particularly great sides but Saurashtra are better thanks to Pujara, Sir and Sheldon Jackson. Having said that, if you don't support Ravindra Jadeja, you really shouldn't look at them because he is undeniably going to be their most important player with Che on India duty.
UP don't have really have any outstanding players thanks mainly to a few being in contention for India. Suresh Raina is their best batsman, but he won't play too much for them. Bhuvi Kumar, best bowler and same with them. Although they have Chawla and Praveen, don't think they are going to uproot too many trees.

Ah that's another reason to support Saurashtra. Sheldon Jackson is the greatest Indian name i've seen (your surname aside).. I think I'll go for them! Go Saurashtra. Now I just need to learn how to spell it without having to copy and paste it everytime.

Spelling's easy. Sow-raash-tra. Saurashtra.
I'm certain you will be a follower of Sir, before too long.

I shall support Maharashtra, on the rather simple basis that they play in Pune, and I have colleagues there.

Fair enough, lets hope Maharashtra can keep up their consistent performances this season for your sake. Any team with Vijay Zol are surely worth watching.
