I'd hope that Kent will be able to get some consistency in the longer form so we can challenge at the top.
I think Fuller is more of a signing for the One Day side, and I believe they expect Finn to be unavailable most of the season...

We all know that Songster, but perhaps the Machines realise that you can't be pants at the most lucrative format unless you are winning CC titles and bringing in the money that way.

Two central contracts, second in the CC (just), Lord's. You'd have thought they'd be okay for money.
Ed Joyce hands over the Sussex captaincy to Luke Wright, because he's in form and they don't want any of that any time soon.

So a pretty nice looking batting order for Somerset seems to be developing for next season. Tresco, Abell and Hildreth they already had, now Buck Rogers to further solidify that lineup.

Ruddy heck, two very impressive signings for Somerset. I wanted an overseas batsman, but I'm very (pleasantly) surprised we've been able to get Rogers away from Middlesex. I wonder if he's been offered the captaincy?
Ryan Davies is a very astute signing too, I've not seen him play but he's very highly rated and in a position where we clearly needed to strengthen. I'm surprised he's left Kent so soon, but perhaps it was him or Billings?
Somerset CC lineup along the lines of Abell, Trescothick, Rogers, Hildreth, Roelof VDM, Allenby/Trego, Davies, Gregory, Coverton, Joverton, Leach sounds rather decent to me. There'll be very some very big scores at Taunton with that top six.

The Cricinfo story on the topic seems to suggest that the rather odd Ashes ticket sale mess around Rogers may have harmed his relationship with Middlesex. Seems a little odd if that is the case, but perhaps they just have Voges lined up and think the younger man is the way to go.

Very excited about both signings. Number three slot has been dodgy all season and frequently left us 2 or 3 down very quickly on occasions. The prospect of Rogers and Tresco batting all day at Taunton is a lovely on. Van de Mere will hopefully secure the number five slot and we do look strong. Has Bates actually left the club, or is he still there? A big ask for an 18 (granted wiil be 19 next year) old to be first choice?
I'm assuming Cooper is off now? But, we will still have Allenby and the (Wheel)Barrow as back up batsmen which was an area we really struggled with last year. Couldn't drop either Allenby or Cooper as there was no one to come in! Should be some good competition for places. All we need is to get Footitt in and we will be sorted!

Ryan Davies has the potential to be a very good player. He looked very nervous when batting last season though, he will need time to settle. He will be a better batsman than Bates soon. A real loss for Kent

Very pleased to see Surrey have been offering new three year contracts to the youngsters. So far this week Roy, the Currans, Burns, Ansari and Foakes have signed one.

A real loss for Kent I've also heard good things about him, it just seems a big ask to make him number one straight away. No point in him being under study to Barrow either so I suppose play him. But, if we couldn'tcarry bates with his lack of batting can we carry this chap who willalmost certainly have a few bad games with the gloves due to his age. Interesting to see what happens.
