Argh. Great knock nonetheless. Starc, despite having looked decidedly mediocre for long stretches, is going to end up with a five-fer.

77 (88) for Ali, a pretty decent effort. Would be good to see Jimmy and Wood eek out a few more but 420 is a decent score.

I think we'll see a yorker or two end this innings quickly now.
...Or a short ball?

Anderson out first ball to a bouncer, how predictable

Oh, not enough conclusive evidence

Big difference between forum and liveblog, Sri: forum has an edit button. Not a big deal, not here, but general forum etiquette is not to double-post. 420 up!

Absolutely no evidence at all for me. Definitely not out.

Anderson gets out, denying Wood his maiden Ashes 50. Come on Jimmy.

Huzzah (on the Anderson survival), and then Starc was kind enough to gift up a bunch of wides as well. How kind of him.
And now Starc's bowled Anderson just as I post this...

All out for 430. We have something to bowl at then. Let's get pack-a-punch early!

I'm almost inclined to set up a "great undeserved five-fers of history" thread.

Very happy with 430. Hopefully we'll take a few early wickets.

Pitch is a funny one, but sadly, I think Australia are probably better placed to bowl on it than England. We shall see. (Moe to take a five-fer and prove Sri wrong forever. ) Innings break perfect time to take lunch, I thinK!

I'd take a Wood five-fer to be fair, especially considering how Jimmy denied him his maiden 50 But I think the pitch is offering something for the spinners and Moe is to establish himself, he needs to do well here.

Why did Wood and - particularly - Anderson bat like that?? Had they stuck around for even 3 or 4 overs it would've started to frustrate the Aussies. Instead they played crazy swipes at every ball as if we were 600 ahead!
