I don't like Rohit sharma even in ODIs or T20s. He has oodles of talent but has failed to justify the hype so far. Give me a hardworker who grits his runs any day over a flashy talented player who doesn't deserve the attention he gets.

Rohit is a member of Sri's hated xi. Do I need to name mine again?

Don't hate him, consistency is key, he is anything but. So he shouldn't be in the team. It is like he is Moe Ali for England. He scores runs one time and everyone thinks he is a world beater, when he isn't

Queue Balladeer's Moeen defence (even though we all love Mo!)

Do we now? He is a decent enough batter, but nothing more than a part-time bowler, the only thing he has going for him is his beard

I think my defence can remain unsaid! Said it enough times already.
He does have a marvellous beard, though.

The beard is reason enough though

The reason Mark Wood is my favourite cricketer is because he's a giant child who plays professional sport. Nothing to do with his fast bowling or thoroughly decent batting.
Moe's got wonderful facial hair, a lovely demeanour from what I've seen, and a Brummie accent that should contradict all that but doesn't. He would be a favourite of mine if he had the batting of Chris Martin, the bowling of David Warner, and the fielding of Monty Panesar.
Happily he's pretty good at all three.
(Although to give Sri his due, God knows his bowling needs to improve from the last few Tests. "Moe drops short and is hammered for 4" was seen all too frequently on Cricinfo.)

Wood is my favorite English cricketer I have interviewed. Although admittedly the sample size is very small, but he is amazing.
At the start of the season, Wood and Onions were absolute delights for completely different reasons. Wood seemed like an enthusiastic fan who was playing cricket and I wouldn't have suspected Onions was an Ashes winner and had taken close to 500 FC wickets, he looked like a bloke who you might bump into on the street.

Wow Sri Lanka are bad. Or maybe India are good? But this is a pitch that was giving turn and bounce in the first innings, conditions that they should be used to, and they're staring right down the barrel.

Sri Lanka aren't a good side. India are great in spinning conditions.

It probably doesn't matter at this stage, but the five-bowler strategy looks to be coming a leetle unstuck here...
Congrats on Magoffining, Sri.

Didn't realise that. yayy. Even a lead of 150 is going to be crucial on this pitch. To be fair, all five of the bowlers can hold a willow. So it isn't the end of the world.

Regardless of what's happening here, I actually like five bowlers. India recognise that bowling is their weaker suit, and they're making amends. Guess it doesn't help that nobody can bowl in the top five either (I don't count Kohli's dobble).
Granted, you would hope for a wicket-keeper with a sur-twenty average in such circumstances...

In sub-continent conditions, you don't need five bowlers, at least Indian doesn't. They played three spinners and two pacers and one of whom went for over 6 an over. Because the spinners are pretty good, all you need is two spinners who can take wickets and two pacers can keep the runs down. Although I'm hoping Ashwin does turn into the all-rounder India needs and given the promotion to No.6 ala Stokes and lets Saha bat 7 and then have four bowlers.
