could you post the rejigged rankings?

20 ranks, Mattzo - count 'em! I really don't think we should be rejigging rankings now - as last-minute signings and the like happen, that necessitates more clumsy changes. Leave them as a tribute to last year's season, then change them just before the next one starts (poor Gary Ballance could arguably be kicked out for a more deserving Yorkie ).

Well, there are 20 ranks, but that includes WG Grace and Danish Kaneira - I'm not sure they're representing counties!
Some rejigging is okay, most players will not be moving counties, but I agree it would be best to wait.
Perhaps we switch to an international ranking system for the winter, and bring county players back in the spring? Would make a change.

I'd be okay with that. Associate players for lower ranks, ending up with Joe Root up top?

Obviously the top rank would go to Shapoor Zadran.
Failing that, obviously Don Bradman.

I was going to suggest something similar until county cricket starts. Obviously we would need one player representing each major cricket playing country. With the lowest and highest ranking going to someone we loathe and love. I'm guessing Bradman or Zadran for the latter and whoever plays for Australia for the former?

Bradman would take on the WG Grace role, I suppose, with Rooty (England player gets top billing natch) on the rank below him. Shapoor Zadran definitely high-placing, though.
Presumably Salman Butt for no posts; but who in the international scene is as loathed as Dernbach? We should probably stick to current players for the middle eighteen, else I'd say Braddin.

As a starting point, there is this. Change names/reorder etc as you will and let's see what we can come up with.
Salman Butt Australia Netherlands Ireland Elton Chigumbura Kemar Roach Mustafizur Rahman Misbah Sri Lanka India Shapoor Zadran Brendon McCullum AB de Villiers Joe Root Don Bradman

Hm, shall we aim for 20 again, and put in more associates? Avoids changing the numbers. Majid Haq, Lega Siaka, Borren... I reckon we could do it!
Much though we all love Brendon, though, AB has got to go up over him. Also Kemar Roach for the West Indies (purely for his stuff on Twitter) and Mustafizur Rahman for The Mighty Bang.

Made a couple of tweaks. I thought about it, but that's quite a lot of associates to include.

Okay, here's my go:
Salman Butt
Rohit Sharma Majid Haq Pikky Ya France (come on, just look at his name) Nasir Jamshed Lega Siaka Kevin O'Brien Peter Borren Elton Chigumbura Kemar Roach Mustafizur Rahman Nathan Lyon (I like him for an Aussie!) Anya Shrubsole Angelo Mathews Shapoor Zadran Brendon McCullum Ellyse Perry Joe Root AB de Villiers (sorry, I tried putting Rooty up over him, but... I can't. not with a clean conscience)
Don Bradman
The eagle-eyed will have spotted a couple of non-male names in there. Anya and Ellyse are two of the finest players in the two top ladies' sides in the world. Ellyse is arguably better in her game than AB in his, as a proper fast bowler as well.
Granted, this is still a huge slant towards the blokes, and I'd be very happy if we want to shave off a few of the lower-ranked associates for greater gender equality. Mithali Raj and Deandra Dottin both spring to mind as great omitted players.

Like the look of songster's last post. But just a couple of suggestions.
Surely, for Netherlands we need to have Ryan ten Doeschate. I mean, come on, who doesn't like Tendo? Also, surely Kevin O'Brien for the Ireland player. he is afterall only their second highest run scorer and highest wicket taker.
Re the gender situation, I don't think that is huge issue perse. given two of the higher ranks are filled by ladies, so lets not get into that. but if you still need one more lady in there, surely Mithali Raj for one of the earlier associates.
Also, if we are having a Sri Lankan, surely it must be Angelo, surely.
Also Brendon above Root purely for his inherent niceness and being the captain of NZ, who everybody loves?
Aside from that, it looks pretty good.
And for the Indian, you forgot Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma please.

Fine with O'Brien - does Tendo still play internationally? EDIT: Research suggests that Tendo rejects his international commitments in favour of playing journeyman T20 games. Not sure we want to reward that! Angelo's too good for that rank - SL being mid-table's about right, so they need a mid-table player. Any of their other current players would do, pretty much! Chandimal? Remember Mattzo's Hampshire bias that has Vince/Crane higher than they should be? Same applies to Root, only I agree with it this time. No complaints about it being Rohit Sharma.

Tendo doesn't play anymore, but is that an issue? If so, then perhaps okay.
Also, as the best all-rounder of his generation, Angelo deserves his place in the rankings. If he is too good for that ranking, then he needs to be higher. Perhaps swap Misbah and him around?
Fair enough re Root.

Could put Angelo above Misbah, yep. That's probably fair.
