I was just thinking about this earlier.
Something for me to mull over tomorrow at work!

Team rankings should be last year's finishing positions in order right?
Then themed for county game stalwarts
Leics - Neil Dexter Durham - Chris Rushworth Derbyshire - Billy Godleman Glamorgan - Graham Wagg Gloucestershire - Chris Dent Kent - James Tredwell Sussex - Ben Brown Northants - Alex Wakeley Notts - Steven Mullaney Worcs - Ben Cox Warwks - Keith Barker Middlesex - John Simpson Somerset - James Hildreth Hampshire - Jimmy Adams Yorkshire - Steven Patterson Surrey - Rory Burns Lancashire - Steven Croft Essex - James Foster

Here's my attempt to gather mediocre players for all the sides that occasionally actually play for them (some easier than others):
Derbyshire - Alex 'Yozza' Hughes Durham - Stuart Poynter Essex - Aron Nijjar (also known as 'ASS Nijjar') Glamorgan - everyone Graham Wagg Gloucestershire - Good ol' KNB Hampshire - James Vince Reece Topley Kent - Heino Kuhn Lancashire - another classic: Karl Brown Leicestershire - Michael Carberry (how the mighty have fallen) Middlesex - Nick Compton of late, but I don't expect any of them to be truly mediocre this season Northamptonshire - Nathan Buck Nottinghamshire - Jake Libby Somerset - Greg Bartlett Surrey - Jade Dernbach, natch Sussex - Abidine Sakande Warwickshire - Andrew Umeed Worcestershire - Ross Whiteley Yorkshire - Alex Lees

Is there a case for Bancroft as the 0 rank player this season? Seems appropriate as he would have been playing otherwise.

I'm in favour of that idea, Kaneria's a bit yesterday's news.

Bancroft 0 is great.

What choices did you arrive at, oh Lord?

Bancroft 0 is brilliant and definitely happening.
Else, I quite like ordering them in last season's finishing order.

Hm, I worry that won’t allow us to explore the truly rubbish end of some of the better teams. But up to you.
If so, no Neil Dexter for Leics. please. County stalwart he may be, but a lot of that was for Middlesex, not Leicestershire. Cosgrove perhaps?

For now I've gone with Nemo's rankings, with the exception of Leics who have Cosgrove. 0 is Bancroft, 10,000 is Trescothick.

Time for another change! Things got changed up last time around, so I'm going with the order of men's teams in the global rankings from here. Down to Bangladesh I've used Tests, then ODIs, then T20s when those run out. Long-term players preferred. Steve Smith (because funny) Munis Ansari (Oman) Babar Hayat (HK) Pieter Seelaar (Netherlands) Basanta Regmi (Nepal) Shaiman Anwar (UAE) Richie Berrington (Scotland) Tim Murtagh (Ireland) Hamilton Mazakadza (Zimbabwe) Mohammad Shahzad (Afghanistan) Mahmudullah (Bangladesh) Kraigg Brathwaite (WI) Azhar Ali (Pakistan) Rangana Herath (Sri Lanka) BJ Watling (New Zealand) James Anderson (England) Nathan Lyon (Australia) Faf du Plessis (South Africa) Ravichandran Ashwin (India) Don Bradman Any suggestions welcome. I tried to make the players not the absolute best from their teams (with the obvious exception of Jimmy), nor the glorious stroke players, because that's not as funny; but happy to change any and all of it!

Peter Borren has retired, maybe Van Meekeren or Pieter Seelar.

Cheers Humair, fixed. Gone with Pieter because it requires fewer letter changes.

FUXACHE
Right, I'm going to have some busy evenings this week. If Lord Matt doesn't get to implementing the rankings before Monday Sunday night, I will.
