The WI situation is sad for many reasons. If all the players they could pick all turned up and worked with the board they would have a good team. Why they can't do this is a mystery. How any team could ban Gayle for so long is nothing less than bizarre. It is also worrying that in a sport that is hell bent on not allowing associates in and therefore not expanding that one of the old boys is being allowed to self destruct so badly. The Windies are a shadow of their former teams, will they even be able to compete in another 5 / 10 years?

To be fair, what you say about Gayle could equally well apply to one KP...

To be fair, what you say about Gayle could equally well apply to one KP... Difference is Gayle was still at the top of his game when the board banned him, KP was in a slump averaging just under 30 for the last 12 months

I honestly have no idea what the security threat was that forced Australia to call off their tour of Bangladesh. After all, SA and India just went there and played ODI series and there was no problem whatsoever.
I know safety is paramount and everything, but surely, it seems incredible given two countries just toured there in the last few months with no problems whatsoever.

It's a new warning, so the fact that the Indian and South African tours had no problems is irrelevant. It's not a generic warning to foreigners, the Australian government explicitly stated that they had "reliable information to suggest that militants may be planning to target Australian interests in Bangladesh".
How many Australian interests are there in Bangladesh?
It's not worth the risk. Hopefully it's a one off.

Agree with you on that, it is probably the right call. But I'm hoping that this doesn't diminish their ability to host future tours.
On a side note, could they play someone else on short notice? Sri Lanka? NZ? Perhaps the associates in a triangular ODI series?

Zim. vs. Ireland. Not sure who I want to win: Ireland winning would be a victory for associates, but Zim. are probably the underdogs here.
Especially with Jongwe opening the bowling. Blimey. What happened to Tendai Chatara?

Ah, cheers Steadzz.
That said, having cashed in against Jongwe, Ireland are doing an accelerated Zimbabwe against the other bowlers.

Indeed. With Joyce still there though there is hope. Andy Balbirnie really is a complete waste of space

220 on a slow pitch? Ireland are not generally good at bowling...

Its upto these two and then Kevin to get them to around 250. Otherwise methinks they are toast.

Definitely lightly carbonated, Sri. 160/6, Gary Wilson still in at least.
EDIT: The double-at-30-rule has excelled itself!

Mutumbami goes. Raza sent in at 3. His best batting record is at 5
Edit: Cricinfo had glitched. Ervine at 3. I couldn't quite believe he had moved down the order...
