Yeah, I've been meaning to pick up Yoshi at some point, as well as Kirby. Both seem like charming little platformers. Also thinking of playing Earthbound soon, never really played it and it seems like an appropriate time to play it after Iwata's recent passing.

Right, I've finally got my poll sorted! After also clearing a really tricky level on Yoshi involving a Bullet Bill made out of wool - a Woolet Bill.

just seen this thread, and picked up and started on tropico 4 recently, so that on the PC. Have a PS3, but not played it for a while (waiting mainly on Yakuza 5 and Persona 5 to come out, as have a backlog on steam to play through). And on the Vita, a whole bunch in rotation since finishing Persona 4 Golden a few months ago - at the moment switching between Rayman Origins (such a great platformer on a perfect platform for it), Retro City Rampage, and Project Diva F

I seem to be the only non-PC-gaming gamer on the forum! Having a Mac doesn't help, but I only ever picked up the Portals off Steam. Didn't finish either of them... I'm afraid that I shoved the Vita under "other", KFON, since even Sony don't seem to care about it any more. I never got on with ROrigins, but I was really quite fond of its sequel Legends. Especially the music levels.

I am one who is rather disappointed with Sony's attitude towards the Vita, and agree with your "other" for it; as for ROrigins vs RLegends - I've only got the first, but am enjoying it quite a bit as a commute game, so would like to hear your reasons for what makes the second so much a better game (largely as it could possibly sell me in getting it).
Am I the only Vita user on here (wouldn't surprise me in the slightest tbh thanks to Sony)

It's hard to elaborate on. I just found the level design, aesthetics, and music a lot better in Legends. It seemed a lot smoother and more fast-paced too. Would highly recommend it, especially if you enjoyed Origins.

will definitely have a look into it once I get over my backlog (largely, but not entirely. caused by PSN Plus free games and discounts) - still got the 3rd Ratchet game from the collection, the rest of the 1st (got massively stuck then lost my SD card) of the Jak (and then the next 2), the 2nd and 3rd Sly Cooper game, jet set radio, numerous indies etc to play on it, and I haven't really picked it up much since a month ago when I decided I really should properly read all the discworld books (my friend has all them, so am borrowing like 5 at a time)

We're going to need a books thread - I love the (middle) Discworld stuff.

We brought it up in the liveblog, so: new Pokémon! I'm definitely a Rowlet man. Which version's trickier, Batmoon is appealing to me at the moment though.

Probably Litten for me. Fire-kitten.
Probably Batmoon as well but we'll see.

Currently Stellaris, released a few weeks ago. Really like (grand) strategy games. So much depth and rulesets to get your teeth into.
It's really good, and one game lasts for days, if not weeks. A few flaws, but they are minor.
Professional review, that. I'd usually charge.

Splendid stuff Stabbers. I really feel like I'm in the game myself.
I'm actually play Yo-Kai Watch on the 3DS. It's fun, good solid Pokémon-pretender. Battling system's arguably even better. (Catching system, nope.)

Also playing Stellaris at the moment as I'm a big fan of grand strategy too, especially the Paradox stuff. It's pretty darn addictive.

I used to love Civ 4, but EU4 makes it look like mere, simple chess in comparison. I had some GREAT EU4 games lasting weeks. Ahh, Kingdom of Oman, leader of the world, ruler of Asia, conquerer of all. Paradox have made some interesting, complex rulesets/systems and Stellaris is just the latest example. I only have one criticism:
I don't like the severe penalty/reluctance of the AI to enter alliances or vassalise on hard difficulty. I can play on hard, it's a good challenge, but I don't like those penalties - your two-star empire that I just liberated with the same ethics as me, where I have 20+ stars and ten times the fleet, won't vassalise or even ally because "hard mode"? Unfair. I tried to edit the defines to reduce the penalty, but the game crashes.
Otherwise, I can't put it down. I've never really felt any other space strategy game (bar MOO2 which I played while waiting for this release) was complex enough or good enough. I really like the scouting-science thing, the fallen empires, the random tech research, sector system, leaders, border controls. It's really well written, and for the most part, Paradox DLC adds a lot in each instance, improving significantly each time, so I'm pretty optimistic.
Unlike other cash-grab games/DLC. Payday 2, I'm looking at you. And you, Star Trek Online - the most grasping game I've ever played.
