Well, arguably Buttler shouldn't be all-format either.

Eh, I'm fine with him being in the side in tests. He's a 10/10 white ball player and a 7/10 red ball player, but he's in the best XI for both with the current England test side.

I like Eoin Morgan the finisher.
Hopefully he can finish Malan's England career too.

Livingstone casually smites his first ball for six.
Think we know who Stokes replaces when he's back.

Morgan?
I'm still a Foakes For Tests fan.

Roy Buttler Stokes Bairstow Stokes Livingstone Morgan Moeen (plays up v spin) Jordan Archer Wood Rashid
Salt Scurran Willey (tempted by Mills or Mahmood mind) Parkinson
That'll do me for the world T20. Don't really mind who the spare batsman is but it can't be Malan. He's not a bad player at all, he just makes no sense in a side that bats as deep as this England side.

Livingstone and Mahmood have really stood up these past few weeks, Tom Curran should be no where near an England ODI or T20 squad so glad people haven't been chucking his name around!
Malan is the perennially odd one, his innings was better than either of Bairstow or Buttler's last night, but he doesn't seem to have anything like the credit in the bank that the other batsmen do - Morgan before last night in particular hadn't had a match defining innings in what seems like forever.
I'd want Salt in the squad, I think he's a cracking selfless player but there are too many options up front for him to get in, a real shame
Willey will be dropped, again, and somewhat harshly will miss a 2nd world cup in a row, provides a great option as an opening bowler, is ridiculously good as a number 8 or 9 batsmen but will be the easy option to drop.

Our best ever, comfortably. Naturally Bumble went on a rant earlier about how we should force him to play tests as he's "by far the best English spinner". I honestly don't know how many times it needs to be proved that white ball and red ball are increasingly divergent skillsets, especially for bowlers, before commentators stop doing this. How many all formats players are there now, really? Root, Stokes, Buttler and Archer for sure. Maybe Woakes and Wood. The only bowlers in there tend to need enormous amounts of rest and rotation. Stokes and Archer the only all format players if I was picking the squads......and even then Archer's injury record is likely to restrict him over the course of his career. TBH, with the strength in depth we do have, I don't think anyone, even Stokes, should be an always all format player, we've got the depth in talent to mix up our ODI and T20 teams (outside of world competitions) so we can give players a bit of a break, and most importantly, so we can learn how those on the outside of the 'closed shops' will perform when called on. Had it not been for the covid isolations, we'd prob have not seen Livingstone, Salt, Parkinson or Mahmood play these past few weeks, and we've learned a lot about them in particular
