Unreal! Thought Carter was gonna be the Rashid and seal it. Hampshire batting looked so light and would've needed Vince/Short to go big but scrabbled it together somehow! El Classicoast at finals day!
And yeah, epic to see 14k fans around although that must've been a horrible watch at various times for everyone there!

Carter has a lot of the future cult hero about him. Big lad, looks a bit ungainly and bowls unusually high arm offies and gives it a whack.
In fact, Notts are all either cult figures (Samit, Fletcher, Carter) or one letter away from that (Hales, Clarke). Just Tom Moores as middle ground...

Or, stunningly, not. What a chase! Abell, Lammonby, Smeed, Banton. God knows what they feed these kids at private school but it's bloody ridiculous.
Those four plus Goldsworthy, Overtons, Leach, Bess, Gregory... The Somerset academy has done an absolutely stirling job in the last 8 years or so.

Wow...hell of a result for Somerset that is, with 2 overs left that goes down as a bit of a spanking

Surprised how much he played as a specialist captain in the hundred, but obviously working pretty well...
Kent's job now to make it the first all Southern finals day! (North did it in 2016, South now lead 41-34 on finals day qualifiers over the tourney history)

Another enjoyable game..... Couple of the BB wickets were to absolute pies, proper village rank full tosses from spinners

Great set of t20s, love the daily Test then evening t20 combo at the minute!
Pleased for Kent, been a decent t20 side for a few years without making finals day and excellent performance to do it with the handicap of not selecting the GOAT! DBD dismissal so unlucky, very rare to hit the ball that hard at the stumps and for it to stop dead. Kent could well have got ~20 more with Billings & DBD both flowing at that point

Southern themed finals day tomorrow. Hampshire, Somerset, Kent & Sussex.
Somerset are apparently the bookies favourites, which is... surprising. Will see who's in and who's out of the squads, but Sussex should be strong.

Sussex (14): Luke Wright (captain), Will Beer, Ravi Bopara, Jack Carson, Oli Carter, Mitch Claydon, George Garton, Chris Jordan, Archie Lenham, Tymal Mills, Delray Rawlins, Phil Salt, Harrison Ward, David Wiese
Somerset (15): Lewis Gregory (captain), Tom Abell, Tom Banton, Jack Brooks, Josh Davey, Marchant de Lange, Lewis Goldsworthy, Ben Green, James Hildreth, Tom Lammonby, Jack Leach, Craig Overton, Will Smeed, Roelof van der Merwe and Max Waller.
Hampshire (14): James Vince (captain), Lewis McManus, Kyle Abbott, Tom Prest, Toby Albert, Tom Alsop, Mason Crane, Joe Weatherley, Scott Currie, Brad Wheal, Liam Dawson, Chris Wood, James Fuller, Ian Holland
Kent (16): Sam Billings (captain), Daniel Bell-Drummond, Jordan Cox, Zak Crawley, Joe Denly, Nathan Gilchrist, Fred Klaassen, Jack Leaning, James Logan, Matt Milnes, Marcus O'Riordan, Qais Ahmad, Matt Quinn, Olly Robinson, Darren Stevens, Grant Stewart
Kent having Qais Ahmad feels big, it usually spins plenty by the time the final match rolls around.

Wicket off a fielding restrictions no ball and it's the experienced overseas Pro in the wrong position, not one of the kids. Not very clever that.

Somerset Scorpions strike again. 35/5 and chased. Remarkable game, not particularly high standard but both sides did their absolute best to lose that game.
