No extras in 88 overs. Unbelievable Jeff.

Playing a shot... Hahahahahahahah no not in a million years. What happened here? Must admit I took one look at the scorecard when I woke up and haven’t been paying much attention since.

Playing a shot... Hahahahahahahah no not in a million years. What happened here? Must admit I took one look at the scorecard when I woke up and haven’t been paying much attention since. Rohit padded up to one outside off, hid his bat behind his pad.... Like waaaay behind his pad, Root reviewed ump said playing a shot so not out. Was that obvious that even the Indian Commentators said he wasn't playing a shot.... Basically just more shit umpiring, which let's face it isn't making a difference to the outcome, but still it's been a horror show this test from all 3 of them

There's absolutely no chance of it changing the result as we've been outplayed thoroughly, but a couple of proper horror show decisions over the last few days. That 'no shot' was just bizzare.
Seems strange that it's the on field umpire who decides that when questioning their call is kinda the whole point of having DRS in the first place.

Someone on twitter made a good point that the review should be retained as on the qn of whether he played a shot or not, it is, literally, umpire's call

Just waking up to Ben Foakes melting Twitter.
I think we're probably at the point now where England's best test XI includes Buttler and Foakes. And probably Bairstow too in Asia.
Sibley Burns (at home) Crawley Bairstow (Asia) Root Stokes Buttler Foakes 4 bowlers from the pick and mix
I can see why they're investing time in Pope and Lawrence but if we had a one off world test championship match tomorrow (and we won't, because we need to win three tests in this series).
Maybe we just need to get more used to the idea of picking batsmen on conditions in the same way we do bowlers.

That was going to happen with Jennings, remember? Then they shelved it.

We all know Foakes>Buttler with the gloves, I mean it took Buttler something mental like 60 tests to get a stumping and Foakes has taken 3 in this test alone.....but with the bat that's where the qns come from, which is pretty bizarre as Foakes averages more than Buttler in tests and first class cricket

Peak umpiring madness in this tests as 4 leg byes are given when the ball was a good 6 inches from Ashwin's pads.

So is Bairstow. And yet 10 minutes watching Foakes keep shows you he's a different animal, he creates so many more chances by standing up and going for things where either of the others (and most wicket keepers in the history of the game, no criticism intended of B&B) we wouldn't even see the chance.

Absolutely. B&B both much more conventional, they'll take most of the ones you expect but don't create chances in the same way. He's almost like a mystery spinner... but a wicketkeeper. Fascinating to watch!
Why is Broad bowling ahead of Leach here exactly?
