It's now 600/4 and Max Holden has joined Eskinazi in the "I missed out on the cheapest runs of my season" club.

I assume Garton just playing as a specialist batsman to protect him for finals day? Suspect the next game at Hove will be an absolute minefield of a pitch to give these youngsters a bit more confidence!
Notts and Warwickshire both looking good to push clear now, the original Group 1 looking pretty strong now since Essex and Durham are tearing up D2 as well!

Between Middlesex and Sussex, you'd have to say this is an unexpected outcome in the contest between resistable force and movable object

Yikes. Abbas, Abbott and Wheal now all (at least partially) crocked for Hampshire. Holland yet to bowl either so presumably an issue there.
Seam attack of Barker, Fuller and Vince a little less menacing than the planned one!
Barks now having to carry the bowling as well as the batting for us now, being the 3rd top run scorer in games he's played and the only fit bowler with 10 wickets this season. Still over 200 to get, but would be a remarkable win from here
edit: Also incidentally Hampshire 2nds are playing Warwickshire 2nds, and Ed Pollock has reached 45* with his opening partner still on 0*. Good to see him moving elsewhere to get another go, could still have a huge future, deadly on his day.

Big creds to Sussex for responding with a hundred opening partnership of their own, especially Haines. 2nd game as first class captain, head must be absolutely fried after 161 overs in the field but he's headed out to open and hit 73* of them already.

777/5 collectively in this game so far. Any chance Somerset's top order could get a game on this pitch?

The tactical jinx attempt never fails.
Hotting up now: Notts 49 (assuming they win) Hampshire 38.5 Yorkshire 38.5 Warwickshire 36 Lancashire 31.5 Somerset 23.5
Next week is 2nd vs 1st, 3rd vs 4th & 6th vs 5th - moving day!

Somerset v Lancs on Sky tomorrow, chosen because the women's T20 game was at Taunton last week and this way they don't have to move the equipment. Good of them to show a game but 5th v 6th probably isn't quite the glamour tie they would have liked.

They could even pull the same trick next week after finals day, with Warwickshire vs Somerset at Edgbaston on the Tuesday. Notts vs Yorks more likely to be the ultimate title decider though, will be interesting.
Interesting to see who's getting involved after the India tour. Back for counties: D1: Dawid Malan (Yorkshire), Jack Leach (Somerset), Craig Overton (Somerset) D2: Ollie Pope (Surrey), Dan Lawrence (Essex) D3:
Not back: D1: Joe Root (Yorks), Jonny Bairstow (Y̶o̶r̶k̶s̶ ̶ ̶I̶P̶L̶ ), Jimmy Anderson (Lancs), Jos Buttler (L̶a̶n̶c̶s̶ I̶P̶L̶), Haseeb Hameed (Lancs) D2: Rory Burns (Surrey), Sam Curran (S̶u̶r̶r̶e̶y̶ IPL) D3: Moeen Ali (W̶o̶r̶c̶s̶ IPL), Ollie Robinson (Sussex)
No real surprises here, the players back played 6 tests between them so probably keen for some game time. Everyone that isn't back played 3 or more (or IPL), may well just be an ECB ruling!

Hameed is of course Notts these days, but indeed wasn't listed in the squad. Turns out they've pulled a fast one and he's in, however!
Haines in the runs again, serious promise at 22 and captain. Luke Wells doesn't get many TV appearances since he's generally been an FC specialist throughout his career, tactically choosing the day the cameras are in Taunton to produce what must be easily his fastest ton!

Cock and balls, realised too late about this round so no transfers made in the fantasy. Intersting pitch in the Warks Yorks match

Cock and balls, realised too late about this round so no transfers made in the fantasy. Intersting pitch in the Warks Yorks match I remembered to make my changes with about 5 minutes to spare. Swapped my captain Stevens for Barker, which is proving something of a good/lucky move as he's taken a 5-for already this morning.

George Dobell leaving Cricinfo due to editorial line clashes... Can't say I'm shocked, I wonder if it was the ECB stuff or the (milder, but touchier) BCCI stuff that got him more trouble?
Gotta think Yorkshire are delighted.
