Essex are winning this at a canter I’d assume. Good luck Somerset!

Tragic to see Steadzz commenting on the YouTube chat of all places over here.

Fantastic catch from Wheater, Somerset two down.

The Sky Sports YouTube coverage has Athers, Rob Key and Adam Collins which is great, or it would be if the sound hadn't been out of sync with the video all day. Fingers crossed for better tomorrow!
The Wheater catch was indeed brilliant - Abell has a bit of a habit of being caught down leg side but that one was just a bit of a fluke.
Overall, a battling performance in tough conditions from Somers and I'm pretty happy with where we are, considering how our top order has generally gone this season. Hopefully tomorrow is drier than the forecast or rained off entirely, not sure coming on and off is going to lead to a good innings.

I know the "Jamie Porter should be playing for England" bandwagon is fairly well established by now, but whisper it... is Sam Cook (Little Chef) even better?

I presume they’re both a bit slow to be in contention.
Somerset have to be runaway favourites now? Leach to bowl them to victory on a turning pitch?

If its a draw top is it the top scoring first innings team that wins?

It is. You’ve got to hand it to Essex, they’ve absolutely bulldozed Somerset with the exception of that one partnership. Can’t be much doubt that they’re the best red-ball side in the counties.

It's a partnerships game, Champo often is. Somerset need Cook, badly. He's playing a blinder.

So first hour tomorrow may decide the match, with Essex not needing to play for the win if they get ahead. Makes for an interesting second Somerset innings that's for sure!

I don't think this game ends in a draw. But yes, the Essex lead puts the pressure on Somerset to chase the game a little.
Not quite sure what Essex are up to here, they have to declare the innings in four overs and they don't seem to be playing any shots whatsoever.

29/0 off the final ten overs. Really really odd batting.

Applying the 120 overs rule to the final is moronic.
I’m not complaining, I’m supporting Somerset, but it’s stupid.
