OK, so it's over a week early, but I for one am quite excited!
Opening fixtures:
Central group: Gloucestershire v Worcestershire (Bristol); Somerset v Glamorgan (Taunton); Warwickshire v Northamptonshire (Edgbaston)
North group: Derbyshire v Nottinghamshire (Trent Bridge); Durham v Yorkshire (Chester-le-Street); Leicestershire v Lancashire (venue tbc)
South group: Essex v Kent (Chelmsford): Surrey v Middlesex (The Oval); Sussex v Hampshire (Hove)
No promotion or relegation of course so may we see some more attacking cricket being played, we shall see...

Durham are going to get absolutely hammered!
Probably have a decent chance of beating Leics. but that’s about it. I assume Derbs. still have Olivier.
South Group looks by far the strongest, but then I always forget that Middlesex are rubbish at the moment.

Working on getting a fantasy league together for this!
Central group looks fairly wide open for Somerset. Would be typical to win the CC in the year it doesn't count, wouldn't it!
Happy to have any cricket to enjoy though.

Pierre will be on more familiar ground now. 207-1 becomes 255-4 (with one retired out).

cricketxi.com/We got the fantasy league up and running in time - only five rounds, and half the players are unavailable with England or overseas, so it's an exciting opportunity to pick unknown players with good names and see them do well (or Ryan Higgins and Darren Stevens, if you're a born winner) CCL League: OYWMPFML (A couple of you signed up before everything went wrong - your teams are still there)

Haven't looked at many squads for tomorrow, but covid blocking some overseas players (& Kolpak) from coming over will be interesting. And 2 separate England squads ravaging a few teams too.
Hampshire for example likely to line up as something like Soames, Weatherley, Northeast, Came, Alsop, McManus, Holland, Barker, Fuller, Organ, Crane in some order, which has about 2 solid dependable county level FC players (Northeast and Barker)
With the lack of match practice for most teams, expecting absolute carnage and stumps flying across the nation. Should be fun!

Seen that you'll get 8 points for a draw now, and also the follow-on target is 200 less, rather than 150. 90 overs before new ball, too. All of this surely encourages defensive cricket plodding for a draw?
The only change countering this is the fact you only get 120 overs to bat in the first innings...
Not sure why we needed any new rules at all, but there we go
