Apparently Wood's a bit under the weather. Would have replaced Anderson with Curran instead, and maybe Robinson for Broad.

Cricket is so dumb imagine trying to sell this to new followers. Why are they going off again? Fk knows mate, it's ridicolulous isn't it.

It was always unlikely we'd get a match in, and this doesn't help. Also, I know it wouldn't have solved the problem today (although there could and should have been more flexible lunch intervals), but there's no reason why without any crowd they couldn't be getting the overs in by starting earlier, except... well, cricket being cricket.

Nail on the head.... No fans to consider, all players and umpires staying on site.... 10 am start tomorrow lads, lunch at 12 lets get some cricket played.

I live 20 minutes away and over the three days it's rained for less than an hour here, and not raining now while they send the players off to the hotel with no play imminent! I just don't understand how so little cricket has gone on... totally agree about changing the times, it's probably for TV reasons but the main TV money comes from a company with a cricket channel, who could easily cut an hour's programming for live Test cricket!

I will also never understand how it can be too dark to play with floodlights fully on

Dark red ball is legitimately difficult to see in those conditions, hence why we don't use it in day night tests.
Of course, there's an obvious solution to that that cricket apparently can't even consider. Changing the ball if it gets whacked out of the ground, fine. Changing the ball if it gets dark, game breaking.

Not at all sure what the point of this is. Buttler to come in in a no-pressure situation, bosh a streaky fifty, and shore up his place? Don’t see any benefit to England in staying out there.

Apparently one of Crawley's nicknames is BMW Zak Man Wheels. What a time to be alive.

Oh dear.
I see Jos has reserved his place on the winter tours.

Oh dear. I see Jos has reserved his place on the winter tours. I don't mind that. If he's in form he's a good bat, and he's one of our best players of spin too for the subcontinent. I don't really want to see him have the gloves though, but maybe it's necessary to balance the team. Brilliant innings from Crawley, just never got tied down. Well beyond expectations.

‘Oh dear’ was at the nickname, to clarify. I don’t mind Jos batting like this. It’s just, as you say, the keeping...

Am I fickle for calling butlers position into question over the past 2 years? Or are people now saying point proved, deserves it indefinitely fickle for calling that out on the back of one v good test?
