Div. 1:
Essex vs. Sur. (Chelmsford) Hants. vs. Som. (The Bowl) Yorks. vs. Kent (Headingley) Notts. vs. Warks. (TB)
Div. 2:
Northants. vs. Dur. (Wantage Road) Worcs. vs. Gloucs. (New Road) Derbs. vs. Sus. (Notts. Road) Glam. vs. Leics. (The Gardens) Lancs. vs. Middx. (OT)
Penultimate round starts tomorrow.
All eyes are still on the promotion race. Essex look to have the easier match, against an off-the-boil Burns-and-Curran-less Surrey at home. Meanwhile Hampshire have picked up some steam, but Somerset have Lewis Gregory back... hopefully. Nothing else makes a difference, and what should have been a relegation scrap has become a dead rubber due to Nottinghamishire's incompetence.
Top plays bottom again in the second division, and I believe that five teams can still go up along with Lancashire. Northamptonshire and Durham is the only match between teams in the race. Glamorgan have the smallest banana skin but also the most ground to catch up.
More exciting than the Ashes? Maybe!

Tense times in the fantasy as we enter the semi final stages today....2 transfers to use, batsman and bowler required....decisions decisions....

County team of the season time.....handy BBC link, feels absurd to only have 2 players from Essex and Somerset in there......but it is what it is. Guess the message to take from it is that the best teams are strong from 1-11

See Faf is playing for Kent against the Yorkies. Believe it's his only CC game and comes into the team at the expense of an Academy graduate. I know he's a great player and it's the way of the world but still sticks in my craw a little bit, particularly as we're already safe from relegation.

Ditto with us playing Patel in the last 2 games of the season. Nothing to play for but pride so why not give one of the young spinners a go?

18-4 at the Ageas. I can see why. However, Hants won the toss and batted... which means both teams wanted to bat?!!?
Groundsman’s last game before his second retirement, clearly fancies a couple more days off

Similar scenes at Leeds where Kent won the toss, batted and are currently 5 down.....tho after last week vs Somerset I have no faith in our batting being able to take advantage of a weak 1st innings score

...Faf out for a duck, too. Making the most of his opportunity.

Has there been a more ridiculous cricketing decision this year, decade, hell even century than for Kent not to renew Steven's contract! Utterly ridiculous. I'd take him at Yorks in a heartbeat for next season.

What on earth. Just looked at the Kent scorecard... Billings 138* at a decent rate yet Stevens came in two wickets later, is already out, and still hit 237.
Also, Notts are batting well!?

Solid stuff from the Yorks bowlers....Kent from 40/5 to 480/8 at the close.

I can't watch. Or listen. Or sense this in any way.

And now 2 wickets in an over for the great man. Winning games on his own...
