I don't mind the unchanged squad: it's a pretty gruelling cauldron to chuck any new player into. Smith and Labuschagne for a bowler, Cummins and Hazlewood for a batsman. Remember Simon Kerrigan? Give Roy the six Tests/two series and you can chuck him safe in the knowledge that he's had his go.

Stokes to 3 then, JB and JB to 5 and 6 with Curran @7. I mean, I agree with Roy being dropped but ffs, bring in a proper batsman don't just throw a couple of all rounders at the problem!

Doing the ol pick your combined Ashes team on the BBC and cannot between both sides select a reasonable 2, 6 or 7. Currently on: Burns 2 Labuschange Smith Stokes 6 7 Cummins Broad Lyon Hazelwood

Denly, Paine, Wade from a bad field, no?

Denly, Paine, Wade from a bad field, no? It'd prob be Denly and Paine....maybe Wade yeah, my non selection is more a reflection of the turgid quality of the batsmen after Burns, Smith, Marnus and Stokes in this series.

I like Peter Siddle, he seems a nice chap and a fine bowler. But can't see any argument for him playing ahead of Hazlewood in the first test or Pattinson/Starc/Neser since. He's just not quite as good as those players, and there's no shame in that.
Edit: and he's dropped Root. Didn't even mean his fielding...

I think I'd play Head at five and Stokes at six. Flattered to deceive, but so have they all and I'm not convinced by Wade.

Utterly incredible stat from Twitter, that Burns has now scored more runs than Cook ever scored in a home Ashes series.

Root dropped again. Aussies getting into the festival spirit.

Mitch Marsh....international cricket's answer to Darren Stevens. Low 80s swing bowling tearing us a new one. If his batting is in the same vein we're in deep doo doo. Again.

Mitch Marsh in at 6, on the back of the last hour being more than any of the above have contributed across 5 tests

Blimey....hell of a review, but even with snicko spiking I still don't believe he hit it!

Yeah, not sure about that one. There was a noise though. Weird that snicko took so long.
Couldn't have happened to a nice guy though.

Broad will be gutted that Jofra’s sniped him.

Worth picking SCurran for that celebrappeal alone. Quality stuff, think he might have been another pitch away before the finger went up.
