Pretty brave to start with the leggie. Fair play to them.

Can't wait for England to slip straight back into 2015 scoring mode now.

Is Stokes the most over rated cricketer in international cricket?
Bit of a reverse mockers effort....but I can't help thinking he's a bit high at 5, and is prob 4th choice bowler......

In ODIs I’d actually agree (one of them anyway). In Tests he adds a dash of magic that England sorely need.

I'd throw Moeen into the ring for ODIs - averages just 26 with the bat and 49 with the ball. Between the pair I suppose they combine to be better than having one plain batsman and one plain bowler, though.

Mo is an interesting one, i'd question whether he is as rated in the short form or tests (ps i'm including T20s cos it helps my next point....) he's been dropped from the England team in the past and isn't as guaranteed a spot as Stokes is, but Stokes has been a fixture on every team sheet for a long time now as well as being picked up for an absurd amount in the IPL without every really having excelled conistently with bat or ball in any format

Can't tell until both teams have batted.....it's doing a bit for the bowlers, certainly not the a-typical English road we've seen in recent times.
edit...he says with hope

Batted Ben, highest score for England in any format since Bristol almost 2 years ago.

England make a slightly below par 311, although there is help in the pitch for the bowlers.

Personally, think 311 is a decent score for the opening game of the world cup. Don't fear this South Africa side either.
Stokes justifies his place.
Don't think Ali does at the moment.

Stokes doing his very best to dispel the overrated tag in one game. What a catch

Excellent performance from England to secure a comfortable win, fantastic bowling from Archer and good support from the spinners. South Africa slightly unlucky that Amla had to retire hurt early in the chase.

They played 'Cricket's Coming Home' at the end. Changed the lyrics and everything. OMG.
