After Tom Latham did a Joe Root (50 off 47, three fours at one point), we have Trent Boult taking a hat trick. Blimey.
Oh also there were some T20s.

A reminder that this thread still exists. Kane Williamson on course for a fifty, natch.

New Zealand bowled out for 153, Pakistan already in a fantastic position.

‘Bat first, win the match’ doesn’t always apply...

If you’re not following this match you’re doing it wrong. And by ‘it’ I mean ‘life’. Pakistan were 130-3 chasing 176. They’re now 155-8.

That's a pretty bloody good result, Pakistan don't lose many in the UAE

New Zealand have done their best though. 50-0, 90 ao. Nice.
I see Ross Taylor’s doing an England in the second innings.

Unbelievable bowling from Yasir Shah taking 8-41 and 10 wickets in the day.

Oh, Will Somerville's debuting. He joins the ranks of "two degrees of separation internationals" in that he's played with someone I've also played with. There are probably loads of them, but the only two I know of are Will Somerville (played club cricket in London) and Lizelle Lee (played very low standard Sunday cricket in Bath whilst staying with a friend and was understandably some way above her depth)

‘Bat first, win the match’ doesn’t always apply... So far this is looking quite wrong. KANE Oh heck somebody just said Kohli isn’t as good as the rest of the Fab Four in the comments. Duck and cover!

I’d rather assumed that there wasn’t going to be any point in covering the Sri Lanka series, yet after Mendis and Mathews and the press-ups it looks as if I might have been mistaken. So I’ve expanded this thread to cover the Sri Lanka series too. Pierre’s put it pretty well:
